Beautiful old hotel. Maintained beautifully. Right in the thick of everything.

There’s lots to do and see within a short walking distance. The staff, especially Tim Caban, Assistant Guest Services Manager, is excellent-top notch! He’s very professional, yet kind and caring. Marriott, you have an excellent employee and they are difficult to find. Marty, at the front door was also great. Remembered our names, was always there, pleasant and personable. People like these two gentlemen can greatly improve your sta.

Great bar. Fantastic pillows in the room. Good central location for walking.
-
The plug sockets either side of the bed didn’t work either. Despite all the good things about the property, those are the two things I’ll remember. Therefore, would not stay there again.

In the heart of downtown. Great location!
-
I loved the lobby, the rooms, the carpet on the floors of the rooms and the little signs with rhetorical sayings, that were here and there and in hidden places like the closets. The restaurant was also nice! And the old typewriters everywhere! Everything was very well designed!

Bars were great. The bartenders were fun and fast on their feet. So close to many great restaurants and shops. Amazing experience

We loved it!
-
Fantastic hotel in the perfect location for walking around Portland. Hip, but comfortable vibe, great amenities and the restaurant is surprisingly good!
-
The staff were amazing, the room was amazing (the bathroom, the shower, the bed, the blackout curtains, the fancy robe, and the interior design were all superb), and the restaurant was fantastic! Unfortunately, I'm really sensitive to sound, and because the building is older, I could definitely hear small sounds in the plumbing, refrigeration, and/or ventilation that made it hard to sleep well. Additionally, the remote was a bit sluggish with the TV, and the previous guests' Netflix access hadn't been cleansed from the TV. I mentioned all of these things to the front desk, they made a note of them, and they offered me extra points since I was only staying one night.

Great downtown location. Friendly staff right from the first steps in A little noisy and expensive but to be expected where it's located
-
The location The attitude of the staff Restaurant
-
Fun place! Friendly staff! Great little touches to remind one of the history of the building! Within walking distance of many areas of interest!
-
Great hotel. Only small complaint was that on the 2nd floor we could hear a lot of noise including morning construction.

Everyone that worked this hotel was hospitable and friendly. I do give the highest marks to their valet team who were all incredibly helpful during our entire stay.

The Portland Press Hotel is a beautiful property. Everything is well maintained and clean. I was most impressed with the welcoming staff and easy valet parking. I do wish there was better signage for the elevators needing a room key, but that was a minor inconvenience. The simplicity of the rooms with just enough accommodations was perfect. I can't wait to go back!

So cozy!

Staff - very friendly, great quiet location but still so convenient to downtown Portland

Staff was welcoming at registration and departure as well as valet. Enjoyed the fireplace and game selection. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Having a restaurant adjacent helpful on a very cold and windy night.
