Our go-to hotel in Portland when we visit Maine is the Portland Harbor Hotel. That’s how much we like it.
-
For a room priced at this level even in high season it lacked both features and amenities. The staff tried very hard but they were limited in what they could do. The one thing it did have going for it was its location which is very good.

The front desk crew were helpful and kind. The location is amazing. We appreciated the bikes and used them to quickly get to breakfast. We had a drink in the bar where the bartender was talented and efficient! Great stay.
-
The location is unbeatable with so many shops and restaurants right outside the door. The team was incredibly kind, the room was super clean, and the à la carte breakfast was a delicious. My only constructive feedback is that the bathroom feels a bit dated. Also, heads-up on the valet parking—it’s tucked away in the garage, not on the street, so it took us a minute to find. Overall, a very pleasant experience.

The hotel was centrally located in the vibrant Portland downtown harbor district. It was an easy walk to the water, shops and countless restaurants. The rooms were spacious and comfortable and the staff was very helpful
-
Great location for restaurants and walking to the harbor. The grounds are very nice for conversation around the outdoor fire pit and tables with umbrellas on the patio. Lovely breakfast room and comfy beds!
-
The switch from guest room elevator to the garage level elevator was a bit cumbersome

BONUS: our daughter has celiac disease and within the one block radius around the hotel there is a dedicated GF chocolatier, a celiac safe gelato shop(you have to ask which flavors are GF and then they will scoop from the back), and multiple celiac safe dinner options. If you want to drive 15 minutes away(and I highly suggest it!!), there is an INCREDIBLE dedicated gluten free bakery and cafe for breakfast and lunch called Roots Cafe. Everything we had there was SO delicious!!!

Wonderful staff ! Very well located !
-
Situated in the heart of Portland, right by the harbor and vibrant downtown, walkable to all the restaurants and activities. Friendly staff. Clean rooms.

As always, an excellent stay. I had to work remotely for part of my visit and I was checked into a beautiful room that was quiet, spotless & absolutely perfect. The staff is amazing, as is the location.
-
Our stay was great - the location of this hotel is perfect, the staff was friendly and our room was really nice. Every morning, there was a fully stocked pantry with snacks and drinks for guests on each floor. We had a great stay and would recommend this place highly!
-
Very helpful staff and had snacks, coffee and water available 24/7

-At arrival, drove to valet, my daughter and I had to manage 2 large suitcases out of the car ourselves, the valet just standing there, no offer to help, -1 slow elevator for whole hotel. We ended up taking 3 flights of stairs anytime we went in and out because the wait was so long -very small showers -over priced! Pros: -outdoor terrace -good location in Old Port

Only 4 rooms that were having A/C problems. Of course we had one the rooms. If the A/C isn’t working, why continue to reserve the rooms and not just fix the A/C??? Front desk attendant Dennecia was wonderful and was able to get us moved for our last night in Portland. She made the experience enjoyable. She did as much as she could. Just not sure why the hotel couldn’t fix the A/C in the rooms with KNOWN issues.
-
The staff was friendly and quickly answered any questions. Our room was gorgeous and well kept. The only minor issues being dimming lights having slight fuzz outs and the room next to us had a dog that was not enjoying their stay at times. I would 5/5 stay there again. No questions asked.
-
The stay itself was quite nice, and the room was mostly cleaned, except there was an errant pill from a previous guest in the sofa. The location was very convenient, but for how much we spent... to have an additional $45 daily valet parking (in a parking lot where I can literally see my car 50 feet away), needing to get and wheel my own luggage cart, poor/generic recommendations from staff, and a mandatory $35 "use it or lose it" amenity fee that I can only use on extremely overpriced food or bad snacks -- it doesn't feel great.

The things that knocked off a star from the rating are as follows: they don’t have bellhop service. When you arrive at the hotel, they lend you a luggage cart and then you’re on your own. Same thing for checking out. For an upscale five star hotel, that just seems very strange to me. In our room, the shower door leaked so we had a wet floor and had to ask for extra bath mats. The television (Dish) didn’t work. I never called to get it fixed because we don’t watch a lot of TV, but we were planning to watch a little Wimbledon and World Cup. Overall, we really enjoyed it, the restaurant food was amazing. The service there was great. There is the thing about that weird $35 fee, but we’ve spent more than that anyway. The lack of bell hop service to the room is the most glaring deficiency.

Great location. Wonderful service & the terrace is really lovely.

Beautiful property and room. Bar and restaurant had great food and drinks. All of the staff were very friendly and attentive. Loved the valet parking and ability to charge my EV car. Will come again!
