Positively, the hotel is in a convenient location! Less than a 10 minute walk from Holy Donut and less than 20 from Tandem. They kept snacks stocked in the lobby and there was always an attendant in the lobby.
-
The staff was very friendly and the hotel itself is well kept however I booked a room with a shared bathroom and the bathroom was locked the entire time (with a sign that said “in use” and I wasn’t able to use it at all.

The staff were nice and the area is close enough to downtown Portland with a car. Without a car, not so much. The actual room we stayed in had an odor. We couldn’t tell if it was from how old the hotel was, the carpets, or how the room possibly doesn’t get any airflow. Maybe a mix of it all. The bed covers were clean and no sign of hairs on the sheets. I would give this stay a 3/5.

Breakfast was nice. Proprietor was a gem.

Lovely, quaint, quiet, and charming!
-
Nice historic hotel a bit outside the hustle and bustle of downtown Portland. Great staff.
-
The Staff was helpful, the historical architecture was beautiful. The breakfast was good too. Was surprised about the shared baths but it wasn’t bad!

We really enjoyed our time at the Inn. The staff is very friendly, warm and welcoming. The inn is very old and has all the character that comes with being an advance age. It had everything we needed and was walkable to downtown Portland. My husband and I walked into the downtown each day, it’s about a 40 min ease walk.

I booked a single room/shared bath (only a small shower cubicle). Arriving, I got to the room (no elevator) climbing 3 sets of narrow stairs. The room had a strong, pervasive odor, even after opening the window. I don't mind older furnishings, but the carpets were horrible. I just left.

Great value for Portland. The old building is in very good condition. The bed was comfortable and there is off street parking on site. My room was spacious and I enjoyed the genuine Tiffany lamps in the lobby.

Tres decevant

The stairs were kind of crazy but the location was great. The bathroom shower wouldn’t get hot and it was clogged. Besides that it did the trick.
-
There is no elevator We couldn’t stay for the night

Good location. Close enough to downtown. Clean breakfast had the basics

I really appreciate the old style of the room (i.e. classic radiator, older dresser). Bed was very comfortable. Really appreciate the sink in the room for brushing teeth, shaving, etc…with sharing a bathroom.

Comfortable bed in a quaint budget room with lavatory, but shower/toilet rooms down the hall. Good window A/C unit. Very quiet. My room was on the 3rd floor reached by fairly narrow and steep stairs, so be ready. Good free limited breakfast, free snacks at other times. Very helpful staff. Free parking in a small lot behind the hotel (no huge vehicles), plus overflow in a lot the next street over, and street parking just outside. Fast food options around the corner (only open to 9 PM), and an interesting-looking cafe right downstairs. A fun place to stay, and in my opinion, the only decent budget option in the city.

Very cool stay!

I would not recommend staying here. The entire property smelled strongly of mold from the moment we arrived, making the stay very uncomfortable. The biggest issue, however, was the cleanliness. The shared bathrooms were incredibly dirty and clearly not maintained properly. Even for shared facilities, the level of cleanliness was completely unacceptable. It felt unsanitary and neglected throughout our stay. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience, and I would not stay here again or recommend it to others.

We stayed one night as a family member was in the hospital across the street. Very accommodating staff and room was quaint and clean. A very unique building, breakfast area was small, but created a community like area in the lobby.
