Room was clean although quite compact.

Dirty. Cigarette holes in blankets. Hair in the shower. Room Door doesn't lock well and if you pushed on door it pops open. Disgusting hotel, completely inappropriate. Sink to wash hands in room near the entry door and bed.

Staff helpful. Our room location was perfect.

We stayed in a room with a bathroom in it as we preferred that over a shared bathroom. The room was right off the lobby but it was not noisy at all. The room was spacious with a small table and 2 chairs. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The shower had great water pressure but it did drip when not in use. The continental breakfast was pretty standard. Parking at the Inn was limited but we had use of another lot the next street over. The location was perfect as we were going to a Sea Dogs game and it was only a 5 minute walk from the Inn. Overall we had a good stay and would come back.

The room was clean enough. The stairs situation is... a bit of an adventure, so please be advised if you have accessibility needs. The breakfast was bad. Previous reviews led me to believe the breakfast was better than other places, and that's what made me pick this place over another similarly priced option. Instead, this was sad grocery store bagels, sad grocery croissants, weird generic peanut butter, some yogurt and not much else! Coffee was decent though. I appreciated the free parking. I did not appreciate the moldy shower curtain liner, nor that half the buttons on the tv remote did not work (incl. the volume, which was set at 0 and the tv itself did not have a button for it). The bed was fine, the sheets and towels clean. If you have a deal on one night, it would be fine. Location certainly helps, but I probably wouldn't pick here again.

We had a lovely stay! The breakfast was great and our room was cozy!

Bath tub drain clogged so we are unable to take more show.

It’s an inn and a bit on the old fashioned side but that’s fine and you couldn’t beat the price. I got a room on the top floor with my own bath off the hallway. It’s a climb but they did offer to bring my bag up. Room’s big, comfortable, has a fridge, etc. Breakfast is enhanced from my last stay. It’s right in the center of town, a five minute drive from the art museum.

Carpet in room is beyond it’s useful life. Coffee at breakfast was very good. Rest of breakfast as expected. I don’t believe that there is an elevator. So, not accessible unless there is another wing with accessible rooms.

  • Engine customer Aug 2026

Nice reasonably priced accommodations just outside downtown. No elevator required walking 4 flights of labyrinthian stairs. We’d come again!

  • Engine customer Aug 2026

loved the charm of the old building and the furnishings. Breakfast was very good with many options considering the limited space. glad we had a room on the 1st floor as it looked like it would have been hard for us at our age (72) to climb the stairs with luggage. parking was a challenge but your solution with using a nearby lot was great.

A little gem in a somewhat industrial area, this hotel is the antithesis of corporate run, cookie cutter hotels. Coffee at included breakfast was very good. The breakfast itself was ok, continental style. Nice to stay at a hotel with personal touch.

The staff was very friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was available starting at 6am, even on Sunday. That was great for us, since our flight home was an 8am flight on Sunday. The Inn was very quiet. We were never awakened. I do advise anyone looking to stay here to be aware of two things. First, there is no elevator. We were well aware of that, and are physically quite able to manage stairs. Second, be sure you know whether you have a private bathroom. Again, we were well aware when we booked our room. We had a private bathroom. We were on the third floor. We had a private bath, but the other five rooms shared one bathroom that looked like a bathroom in your home.

Not a great location. Tough areas just outside the door. Terrible mattress, small bed, loud window ac and very small shower. Breakfast was awful.

  • Engine customer Aug 2026

My traveling companions were surprised to not have an en suite shower and I heard other guests also bothered about that.

If you need a reasonably priced place to stay for a night in the city and aren't too fussy, this place works just fine. Its an older hotel with a little bit of character that is kind of a good reflection of Portland, as a whole.

  • Engine customer Aug 2026

They gave us free king room upgrade after mistake with hallway " private " bathroom. So we leave excellent rating !

  • Engine customer Aug 2026

Honestly, not a bad stay but a mid-stay at best. There is no elevator - I definitely missed that part on the listing/reviews. The room was clean but the bathroom was terrifying.

  • Engine customer Aug 2026

Cute property and comfortable room. There is not a lot of parking actually on-site, but they give a parking pass to another lot about a block away. Pretty typical Continental breakfast. Would stay there again.

We found the hotel had old world charm but the wallpaper was peeling and our sink was constantly blocked. The staff, especially the manager, were extremely helpful. Breakfast was basic. Boiled eggs were frozen. We enjoyed reading about the history and the hotel must have looked splendid with the refurbishing in 1996. We think it needs another uplift or a significant reduction in cost.
