They were super friendly and kind

The hotel is a bit dated with chipped paint and peeling wallpaper in places. They have signboards in the lobby stating that renovations are planned. I appreciated that there were basic breakfast items available at no extra charge and parking was also free. It seems most places are tacking on fees for this even when you’re fairly far out of the city.

This could be a great place if they got their act together and had more staff. The furniture in the room was stained and the floor in the bathroom was cracked and dirty. And the air conditioner was loud and noisy. With the renovations going on there was drywall dust on the floor and door knob going into the room that wasn't wiped off when workers left. The breakfast area hadn't been wiped down or cleaned in who knows when. First morning there was no milk and very scarce breakfast. We were told they ran out of milk and no one there to pick some up so people could have cereal since there was only bread products to eat. There was 2 yogurts. Next morning...no milk and the woman said their shipment didn't come. So we went out to breakfast. When we returned back to the hotel that evening there was a large walmart order laying all around the breakfast area so I'm thinking they never had an order coming. Breakfast the next day had milk but still wasn't clean in the food area. I don't think they have enough staff to do it and they depend on the person at the desk to do it. We felt bad for her that she had to be there with no manager to deal with upset hungry people. And when we left they were painting in front of our door and the painters gave us dirty looks because they had to move their drop cloth so we could get by. Ridiculous. We weren't told there were renovations going on. We will never stay there again.

Former Hampton Inn. Some rehab going on. Needs work. Not up to IHG standards. No hot breakfast. Only thing good was the price.

At first the pool was closed. When it opened the hot tub had no bubbles. The hotel had renovations happening when I stayed.If I had known in advance I would have picked another hotel.

Nice staff. Good breakfast. Building in renovation so half the building was horrible. Room smelled horrible, almost like it was moldy. Asked to switch rooms but they weren’t able to. Walls very ugly.

You can't beat the location as it's directly behind the mall, the staff were phenomenal and the breakfast was filling. I understand new construction is an entire process, but our room had no number, the bathroom had mold in the grout, the bathroom faucets were put on unevenly so that when you turned the hot water off the handle hit the sink, the ceiling of the shower had holes and was flaking into the tub after showering, the shower rod wasn't level which resulted in the shower curtain falling to the middle of the rod which meant maneuvering the curtain while showering, and the toilet had difficulty flushing. Thankfully the room itself was fine.

Although the hot tub was non-operational, our overall experience was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed the pool, which was pleasantly unoccupied, and the room was well-maintained. Additionally, the breakfast service was of high quality.

We had an enjoyable stay overall. Our toilet was broken but we were moved immediately. The front desk staff were excellent! (Friendly and helpful) the hot tub had broken jets and pool was too cold however we did still sit in the hot tub as it appeared clean. The breakfast had a lot of carbohydrates and not much else but area was clean and staff were friendly. The parking lot was sketchy. It makes me very uncomfortable to have the homeless smoking weed beside my car and napping on front lawn at check in. We booked two queens but were put in a room with two doubles and the beds were so small I thought I’d fall off it during the night. I’d still stay again even with those issues. The hotel is being renovated and has a lot of potential. Hopefully South Portland figures out something with the homeless situation as it’s a huge deterrent to tourism to have homeless lurking in parking lot.

Rooms and common areas are under renovation. Hot tub is broken. No queen size beds even though that’s what we booked and what was advertised. Simple buffet breakfast on Saturdays/Sundays. Continental breakfast all other days. Stay somewhere else until renovations are complete.
