RiverPlace Hotel

Hotel was conveniently located near the river and easily walkable cafes and shops! Parking was easy and valet was helpful when we arrived. Room had a great view of the river!

The room itself was spacious and not bad overall, although there was no fan in the bathroom. Cleanliness could definitely be improved. It was obvious they do not clean thoroughly under the beds, as we found silverware and trash underneath ours. We paid extra for a river view, which was nice visually, but we had no idea how noisy the area would be. There were events nearby as well as very loud bass coming from a club, so the river-view side was definitely not as peaceful as we expected. The hotel is located next to a park, which sounds like a great amenity, but we did not always feel entirely comfortable walking through the area because of the number of people openly using drugs or lingering in the park. The restaurant was probably the biggest disappointment. If you have gluten or dairy restrictions, the options are extremely limited. The cleanliness there was also questionable. There were layers of dust on the shelves behind the booth seating, and even though we were the first people dining there that morning, there were still food crumbs left on our table. For the quality of the food and the overall experience, it was definitely not worth the price. Our check-in experience wasn't welcoming either. The receptionist who checked us in came across as though we were inconveniencing her simply by checking into the hotel, which isn't a great first impression. The place needs some TLC.

Set against the water, this hotel feels like a hidden gem in the city. Quiet and with great views, it is only a short 10-15 minute walk to stores and restaurants in Downtown Portland. I definitely would recommend this to out of town visitors looking for a quiet yet conveniently located place to stay.

This stay I noticed some wear and tear that could use a little upkeep, including scratched walls, pealing paint, a cracked bathroom sink, and some staining along the shower seals. Overall, I still enjoyed my stay, but the rooms could use some maintenance and refreshing. I was here on a Friday night and the restaurant / bar closed at 9pm. If you’re arriving late it’s worth brining snacks and water/beverages. There were a couple of options in the room but pricey.

The $60 valet charge to park overnight for hotel guests is a little excessive and disappointing Room was very nice but our 'river view' was obstructed by trees - maybe a higher floor would be better for the great views Overall very nice - but very expensive to park your car when you are paying for a higher end hotel already

The hotel was nice and clean. Matt at the front desk was superb. He is a great asset to the property. The hotel is in transition during new ownership so the property didn’t have a menu in the room to order room service. The breakfast could receive some improvement.

Check in was horrible. I waited 15 minutes in line. I had called ahead to request a feather free room due to allergies and a room facing the water. Went I went up to the room-the bedding was feather bedding and the room faced the parking lot. I stuck my head outside the room and asked housekeeping for feather free pillows. She told me she didn’t speak English. I then called down to the front desk requesting to be moved to the room I had previously requested and to have synthetic pillows. She said she had given the last water facing room away but she would have the pillows brought up to me. They came a few minutes later. Overall the room was old and outdated. The restaurant was slow service. The room service was great and the valet guys were great. We won’t stay here again unless major improvements are made.

This location is fabulous! The staff is amazing! We stayed in one of the cabins, which was beautiful. There were a couple things that weren’t great. The shower was the lowest pressure ever. I could not was my hair in that low of pressure…had to take a bath instead. Along with the bathroom, there is some general updating that needs to be done, but all in all….a great experience!

Room was fabulous! Loved the windows and view/sunshine through them. Hotel was just okay. Was expecting a more resort feel. Pictures online made the grounds feel more private and cozy. Bit disappointing that there was no hotel outdoor space.

Location. It is worse for wear. The carpets are old. The bathrooms are old. Fitness room was shuttered. The establishment had no black tea in rooms or restaurant. Restaurant and bar closed at 9:30. And everything was pricey. This hotel was sold by Kimpton recently so it is not Kimpton quality

We love the view from our room, also the room was very nice and spacious. Very close to everything and a good restaurant at the hotel.
