We love staying here and stay here every time we come to Portland. The staff is friendly, safe and great location.

I’m not sure how this property got a 8.2/10 rating. I very seldom feel the need to say anything bad, but in this case I need to. There is limited parking and cost an additional $10. Upon entering, I needed to leave the door open to help air it out. My husband was nearly locked in the bathroom as the door handle didn’t work very good. I had to open it on the outside to let him out. As I entered the bathroom, I could hear water dripping. Thinking it was just a tap, I checked and when I reached in the tub, I could see water dripping from the ceiling. Now it was plain to see this was not a recent leak. The ceiling was stained from the water. The desk clerk did check to see where it was coming from and he broke a hole open, but of course, there wasn’t any quick fix. At that point, we needed to move to another room. It only had 1 queen sized bed, but it was a much better room. This place could use some major remodeling. I felt we should have been compensated something, but they said there was nothing they could do because we had gone through Hotels.com. Live and learn not to put your faith entirely in ratings and stars.

Overall a good experience for a single traveler looking for something inexpensive and transit-friendly in Portland. The neighborhood wasn't the best, but there were plenty of food stall options just across the street and getting transportation elsewhere was a breeze of a few blocks walk. Bed was overly firm, but air conditioner held up despite 90-degree temperatures.

The couple managing the property were super friendly and accommodating.

A very nice clean room in DT Portland. Great for the price. Mattress was exceptionally comfortable. Really impressed with how well managed this place is. In addition, there is a line of food trucks on the next block for a reasonably priced meal, and a CVS one block away. Yes, there are the usual Portland homeless in the area, but none of them seemed dangerous (I was traveling with a teen).

    Clean and quiet for downtown.

We enjoyed our quiet stay the room was very clean and the staff was very friendly I was surprised it had a washer and dryer to use even though we didn't need it I might need it when I come back the only thing that disappointed me was the $10 a night parking fee this was the first Hotel that has ever charged me for parking in a place where I paid for a room I know it wasn't much but when you are on a fixed income and it was very hard for us to even pay for the room when I had to bring my wife over a 5 hour drive to have a stent replaced in her pancreas which is very painful for her but I will still come back to the Econo Lodge just because of the cleanliness of the whole place and how quiet it was.

A few negatives are the property itself is a bit rundown. No maid service for the second day. I would stay at this motel again if I were in Portland.

The parking spots. The staff, the rooms were dirty and the staff was very rude
