Love the anchorage inn for price/location. It’s always quiet and staff are nice. They are doing extensive construction one floor at a time it seems so our floor was older and hallways smell of urine (from when they allowed dogs I’m guessing), but room is very clean. Overall, it’s a great place to stay with proximity to all things in the area for a great price!

The man at the desk was so good to us. He treated us like we were his family and the parking was great, it was free!!!

The hotel needs tobe condemed or maybe it has been but they are still operating it. Dirty, unsafe, and run down at the very best.
-
Very poorly maintained. Not updated.
-
Hotel is under renovations…

The room itself was clean and nice. Property itself could use some work.

Very kind and helpful front desk person. Property was a disaster. The area apparently not undergoing construction very much appeared to need it. Holes and stains on most walls, very stained and run down carpet, bugs (mostly dead) around the floors and curtains did not cover entire window. Thin walls to hear every conversation and AC units worked but the moisture was so high there was condensation dripping down the walls and pooling below the AC units on the carpet causing a lagoon next to the bed.

The property is going through renovation, but they are handling it as well as can be expected.

We stayed there several years ago several times and liked it. Today it is very trashy. The back yard of the hotel looks like a dump.

Rooms were dated but clean and in order; bathroom seemed to have been upgraded more recently than the rest of the room. Few amenities, but the price was very reasonable and all the staff were very friendly and helpful.
-
The property is right at the end of the exit and under construction but the room was good and clean. Air worked great. TV channels were not as noted and couldn’t put in channel selection. Staff was exceptional, very helpful. Not too far from downtown.

Room clean, staff friendly. Construction limited amenities.
-
It was in a perfect location The security was a little shifty
-
They are undergoing construction of some kind, so the sauna really didn’t work
-
The only notable downside was noise from the somewhat nearby highway, but it didn't interrupt our sleep.
-
The room had gross marks on the ceiling, room was just overall slightly gross

I have been traveling through the Portsmouth, NH area for a few years now and have stayed at the Anchorage Inn and Suites. It has steadily declined in condition. While there has been promise of much needed update and remodel for years, it has not happened. This will be my last stay. The room was worn beyond acceptable. Smoke alarm hanging from the ceiling, holes in the walls, an unpleasant odor and an elevator that sounds like it is in need of help. No amenities. I understand the old saying, “you get what you pay for” but, for not much more $$ you can do much better in the Portsmouth area.

This is an older building and part of it is being renovated. It is not fancy. It is clean and quiet and the staff are very helpful. I would happily stay here again.

I hadn’t been to this place in many years. It looks like they’re remodeling. Our room is very clean. The staff was really nice and I would love to come back when it’s remodeled.
