Hampton Inn & Suites Poughkeepsie

The location was very good; very close to the FDR Presidential Library and Museum, to Eleanor Roosevelt's private residence and to the Vanderbilt Mansion which was our primary objective for staying in this area. The breakfast was very good. Finding this property was very easy and a nice drive. It was our second visit. The biggest issue was that the toilet was "low" and uncomfortable for my husband who is of normal size. He had to keep going downstairs to use the lobby toilet for comfort. The freezer component of the refrigerator was only half the normal size and so we had to ask the front desk clerk to store our third ice pack in their freezer. Most refrigerator freezers are full size and easily accommodate three small ice packs. ONLY in the middle of the night when we had to use the bathroom did we notice tiny (what looked like) ants...only a few of them but noticeable. Unlike most Hampton Inns, there wasn't a bowl of fresh fruit in the dining area. Plenty of coffee but no fresh fruit. No exhaust in the bathroom.

It's a amazing hotel just wish they had a better variety of breakfast food...

An ok hotel for a stop over. A little dated in the common areas.

Location and parking convenient Breakfast wasn’t too good other than waffle and bagel.

Breakfast was a little disappointing. Sausage was cold at 9:30 am with like 4 pieces sitting in oil at the bottom of the tray, eggs were pretty watery, potatoes were chewy. Waffle was great, as typical for Hampton Inn. Coffee was really good. I'd stay again. But try to hit breakfast earlier. But that's sort of disappointing too. If it lasts until 10, it should be good until 10. Oh, also the pool was really small and hot tub was closed. We'd been planning to use both, but skipped it.

Only stayed one night but beds were comfy and clean and the room had a lot of space for the 5 of us. Would stay there again.

Location was okay although shared parking lot with not so nice Red Roof. Room view was back parking lot with quite a bit of trash on ground. Only spoke with staff at check in, very nice and check in was easy. Bath ceiling had mildew and peeling paint. There are quite a few hotel’s in the area, will choose different hotel when in area again.

We had rotting pizza under our pull out bed (they did give us another room after we found it though) and the hooks in the bathroom fell off of you put a dry towel in them. Overall it was ok but we were disgusted by the rotting food in the room.

There was no hot breakfast because something was broke and the pool was closed so that put a damper on the vacation.

Many hotels may offer free breakfast meals daily, but the menu and the food was absolutely delicious. I never recall, looking forward to the free breakfast, but this place, I loved it.

They have buffet breakfast which is great and children friendly environment.
