Cambria Hotel Rapid City near Mount Rushmore

Very nice room. Staff very nice as well.

We had a good experience at the Hotel. Friendly, helpful staff; the room was clean and comfy. We weren’t able to experience breakfast because we left too early for the airport. Good, convenient location.

Was halfway point to my destination used it on the way there liked it so much used it on the way back

Did not like dirty carpet everywhere, dirty elevator and dirty furniture in the room.

This hotel has seen better days. Carpet and furniture are worn and stained. Towels are frayed. It is close to restaurants and shopping.

Rooms need updating. Fridge in room didn’t work. Air conditioner was not working properly.

downside, door cards stopped working a day into our stay, night desk clerk was rather odd. whole hotel smelled like dirty fryer grease from the grill/bistro, carpet in halls was old, stained and torn. On the upside room was clean, bed was comfy, pool was cool and hot tub was hot.

Wonderful hotel…spacious rooms, great towels and nice hot tub.

Loved it, everything is always perfect here. I've stayed here in the past and will stay again.

Property itself is ok. The staff are extremely rude no help whatsoever. I had gotten room keys upon checking. None of my keys even worked upon check-in went back downstairs to inform the front desk lady that they did not work. She was texting on her phone and having a full-blown conversation with a coworker right there next to her and did not acknowledge me as a customer. The appliances and immunities in my room were broken did not work we did not receive towels, no housekeeping the entire stay

the staff was very nice and helpful , I love the size of the room, everything was fine except the bed was never made, we ware there 5 days and they never change the sheets .

The location of the hotel was great, it was easy getting to the main attractions we wanted to visit. Mt Rushmore/Crazy horse monument/Custer State park and the Badlands National park, easy access to the Interstate and to various other places we explored on this trip. While the room was good...the Housekeeping staff was pretty much NON EXISTANT, on the little paper they give you with the schedule and Wi-Fi password, it CLEARLY states and I QUOTE "HOUSEKEEPING: EVERY 3 DAYS OR UPON REQUEST" (see photo) well...we stayed 6 nights and they never NOT EVEN ONCE did they clean our room. we thought OKAY, 3 days is acceptable, we arrived on Sunday...room was clean...we figured they would come to clean Wednesday or even possible Thursday...NOPE...they did not clean the room AT ALL. NOT ONCE the ENTIRE stay. on Thursday evening i went to "REQUEST" they come the next day to clean...the desk clerk wrote the room number down and said they would be there and that I could also stop the cleaning staff in the hallway and tell them to clean our room...EXCUSE ME? i told the clerk that I am NOT their boss...they do not work for me and it's not my job to tell them to clean the room...so we come back after a day out, the trash is still overflowing onto the floor, again, needed a couple more towels, and there was no toilet paper left, i went back down to the desk AGAIN and asked why no one has cleaned the room, you know...make the bed, empty the trash, remove used towels, the sort of thing one would expect, this place was anything BUT exceptional...like i said location was the only thing that was good. In addition, the TV's are exceptionally small, in the evening, it was very frustrating to try to watch a football game or a show to unwind after a full day. my laptop would have been easier to bring it closer. the amount they charge for 1 nights stay, they could easily upgrade the TV's. Finally upon checkout EARLY Saturday (September 12th, 2026) morning at 4:30 am, the desk clerk was sitting in the side room of the lobby, she saw us pass by to the checkout area, we figured she would be right over to check us out and retrieve the key cards...NOPE she just sat there doing her puzzles.

The Cambria is a very nice hotel. The staff, especially in the dining area, are wonderful considering the lack of food and beverage they had to work with. They say they have a bar but have no liquor license and the beer and wine selections were very limited. Limited dinner menu.

It looked like the sheets had not been changed, and I wasn't sure about some of the towels, they were folded pretty sloppily and felt a tad bit damp, and there was a hotel lotion bottle next to the sink that was half used. So it made me wonder how clean the rest of the room was. Also there were a lot of stains on a side chair and hide a bed cushions were on sofa backwards. I probably wouldn't recommend it, but the price was relatively good.

The a/c didn’t work in our room. We called to report this and a maintenance man came to the room but did nothing, other than give us the creeps. We hardly slept due to uncomfortable room temperature. Also, the hotel was undergoing renovations that we were unaware of until check in. The front desk staff was kind and apologetic the next morning. They offered us free breakfast but we just wanted to leave as quickly as possible.
