Our stay was absolutely amazing! The staff was so friendly.

Don’t stay at this Microtel! The manager there was terrible and we couldn’t even get the room cleaned for the whole time we stayed there. Every morning we had to ask for clean towels and emptied our own trash…and every time he promised that the room would be cleaned and it never was! He never took responsibility and apologized for the shortcomings, except making excuses about how the staff didn’t show up for work! What a lousy manager. He should be fired! Never again! Never had such a terrible experience!!!

The property was in great condition. Great location. Walkable to one of the Outlets (Jcrew, Banana Rep…). Close to the beach. Breakfast was awesome (24 hrs coffee available). Friendly staff. Will come again in the future.

Halls were always dirty. No one vacuumed. Shampoo and Lotions were not filled in our room. Only had one bath towel. Breakfast bar was no attended to in a timely manner. Many empty options and unensils. Didn't see anyone come out to check or refill bar for over 30 minutes. Great location, but other guests were load and rude making the stay no very enjoyable.

So far, everything has been good except for the air conditioning. The AC unit is enclosed, which prevents the cool air from circulating upward. Instead, it blows directly onto the bed. Since the king room is relatively small and the AC is positioned very close to the bed, the cold air hits you throughout the night, making it difficult to sleep comfortably.

Also, a guest is notified just an hour or two before artival that a "small charge" will be held on the credit card to cover any possible damages that may occur. First, this timing is terrible when a family must plan for monetary obligations when vacationing. Second, this doesn't place any trust in a guest's care of her room. Why wouldn't a charge be assessed if damage is incurred?

The included continental breakfast was subpar. Yes, the scrambled eggs and sausages were pretty good, but no fresh fruit, no yogurt, and the juice machine was broken the entire time we were there, with no other drinks other than skim milk meant for the cereal. There wasn’t even water, but even so, at the first breakfast we had, they were actually charging for bottled water. Seriously?? Then the pancake machine broke. I’ve had better breakfasts at Comfort Inn’s. I’m listing this as 5/5 stars so people will read this review. I've always had great experiences at Wyndham. They're always clean, with good, polite service. However, the MicroTel by Windham in Rehobeth Beach, DE was not at all what I was used to from Windham, not even close. We checked in at 3:30pm on a Sunday (check-in time is 3:00pm). There was a long line with only one person behind the counter to help. It wasn't his fault, but 75 customers had checked out that morning. They normally had 8 housekeeping people to clean the rooms. All but one left in the middle of their shift, leaving few rooms cleaned, so most people checking in either did not have a room ready or were given a room that was supposedly clean but when they went to their room, it had not. There was high tension in the lobby. The manager had personally checked some of those rooms to ensure they had actually been cleaned, but customers still found them untouched. Several people just asked to cancel their reservation and not be charged the late cancellation fee, and said they'd take their chances finding another hotel. There were several people sitting in the lobby waiting for their room to be cleaned and finally ready, which was a very long time. The day before we were supposed to check in, the hotel charged a $100 incidental fee and then, separately, the full hotel stay charge to my credit card. Then today, they tried to do it again. As a result, my bank flagged these as fraud, which caused a further delay to our check in since I had to call the bank and get it all straightened out. So, the guests behind us had to wait about 45 mins. The other thing was that their credit card reader broke, so customer's credit cards had to be manually entered by the manager, which caused even more of a delay for waiting customers.
