Exceptional

The hotel was very pretty and I enjoyed my stay.

The property was well maintained and most enjoyable; the staff members were very pleasant and helpful; however, for the occasion, the dining room staff was under-manned, wait times were too long, the meal had cooled and the dessert was over cooked.

Very good

The location is good for down town and visiting the roanoke star , check in was easy due to the helpful main desk staff. We went as tourists but this seems to be very much a business hotel so it was quite noisy even in our room as we had late drinkers shouting and early risers with loud TV’s blaring add the rail track and dont stay here to have a good sleep. The bar staff, main desk staff and one elder gentleman who picked us up from the self parking with our cases were great. The younger valet staff loitering around the main door were rude as !!!

For example, The Pine Room menu is "dated," so today's food choices are limited and average. Next time we stay we'll check downtown for dinner. Breakfast in the Regency Room is problematic: The Continental Breakfast is the best choice but too expensive if you are a light eater. The menu breakfast items don't "speak to you." Maye we were contemplating the traditional breakfast items, that is, "two eggs and bacon," for example. The waitress didn't know why bacon wasn't on the menu. Probably at the continental breakfast. We ordered the veggie omelet. It arrived late: cold, dry and tasteless. Otherwise, hotel is great.

We loved our stay here in the lovely historic hotel. The rooms were well appointed and lobby areas lovely. A bit pricey.

Great location! The bar staff are wonderful and very accommodating! The pool was a great option to lounge in before heading out to Elmwood Park for the concert. Only issue we had was the phone in our room did not work, so we had to call the front desk with our phones and there was a plastic hanger and discarded price tag under the dresser the TV was on which made me wonder how thoroughly the room had been cleaned before we checked in.

On the needs improvement list, the television system was horrible. You would select a station you wanted to watch from live programming and press enter and it would bring up something different. Very disappointing.

Beautiful Parking is huge and calculated ripoff

Rich in history- beautiful decor I paid over $100 for a three-night stay (with ZERO valet service, this is self-parking). Front desk staff intentionally inflated parking charges-I believe they are operating a fraud situation w the parking. Problems with the reservation. No property map to find the pool or coffee shop. Beds were extremely uncomfortable. 2nd Room wasn’t ready at 4pm check-in- front desk clerk kindly said she would flip the room herself and it would only take a few minutes. Sheets probably not changed. Got a Jr suite for added privacy and turns out the separate room has the couch and tv- terrible design. I was planning a stay with family (3 rooms and dinner for 7 people) for Thanksgiving. After this stay I arranged it at another nice location instead.

The Hotel Roanoke was by far the most elegant hotel I have ever stayed at. The historic and unique building is fascinating, along with the modern rooms makes it so much more than a hotel. The staff was professional, pleasant and knowledgeable. They were gracious and often offered their assistance. The only amenities we utilized over our weekend was the pool and hot tub. The attendant for the pool was courteous. The room was clean and modern, and we really appreciated that it was quiet. We will definitely come back the next time we visit Roanoke.

Exceptional

Breakfast was excellent. Room was comfortable. Used hot tub to relax at pool. The hallways and general inside temperature was way too cold. Not necessary, in my opinion to refrigerate the hotel …save some on your energy bill and turn up temps about 5 degrees to save on AC. The wine prices are quite high … often 3-4 times what you buy it for in retail, so when you buy as a reseller, the wine is likely 4-6 times what you paid. How about 2-2.5 times mark up and giving your guests a break. We deserve some quality wines (not cheap stuff) at a reasonable price/value. You’ll sell more wine and make a good profit because of it.

Everything was amazing, but especially the staff. I was only slightly uncomfortable with being dressed for vacation (lazy) with business meeting people all around. But it IS a convention center, so I understand

Room was amazing. Bar and restaurant were very good. Everyone was happy & polite. Had trouble finding it
