This is a beautiful building in desperate need of a good cleaning. The pink couches in the lobby are so dirty they look grey. The carpets are filthy and tables in the lobby caked in sticky substances. The restaurant is the absolute worst. We went there twice and each time was worse than the one before. The server was shockingly hostile and genuinely nasty. The wait to get food was well over two hours (with only three other couples and all ordering just drinks). The food was cold and greasy cheese in a raw dough boat with a raw egg and an obviously cannned tin tasting beet “salad” with an acidic vinaigrette that matched the server’s disposition. It was inedible. In two hours she never came back to offer water refills or see if we wanted another cocktail (we did). They were out of half the menu (drinks as well as food) and yet we were charged for items they didn’t even have to sell. Our bill was well over $100 for horrible food, overcharges which they refused to correct, and about the most unpleasant service I have ever experienced. The rooms themselves are nice, but small and signs of age are everywhere in cracked vanities and chipped paint. I think this place would be nice with some tlc and eliminating the restaurant, which isn’t stocked, staffed or operating competently.

really should have had a second chair in the room. I had more than ample space.

The hotel is pristine! Beautiful and comfortable room. The lobby is gorgeous. My only complaint was the loud music and sketchy people around. Saturday morning was a totally different scene with families at the farmers market and a downtown museum. The area was actually really nice.

I don’t think it was worth the cost.

Room was very well appointed. Shower was Devine, and location was perfect

My girlfriend and I got engaged during our stay. The liberty trust was the perfect hotel to spend our weekend!

Great place to stay. Staff, food and stmpsphere was superb!

Very unique and nice hotel. The rooms are large and very clean. We enjoyed being able to walk through downtown and be close to nice restaurants

Would totally stop back.

The hard product is excellent — gorgeously renovated historic building, comfy beds, great location. Restaurant is not great — extremely salty crab cakes — and front desk service is indifferent at best.

The building was nice but they are badly understaffed. Restaurant/bar closed Thursday for lack of staff. One bartender/server stuck with trying to make drinks and take food orders for 20 people the next night. (The bartenders were great). Our room was nice but my in-laws' room was awful. Too small and the noise from the rooftop bar next door kept them up most of the night. Our room wasn't made up until 5. So--very mixed. A historic building in a great location, but very flawed in execution.

The restaurant was amazing. Food was delicious. Staff was great.

Is not a 4 star hotel, very poor room, difficult parking. Is a 3star hotel, the photos in the adverising are fake.

Room was clean and spacious. However, restaurant staffing was an issue. Advertised availability for breakfast, lunch and dinner; breakfast was not available one day because someone didnt show up for work, another day breakfast was severely understaffed (1 person seating and serving 8-10 parties). Lunch was never available. Also room card had to be reset every day for 4 days. Better options available in the area. Will try promissory hotel next time. Their coffee shop filled in for the non-existent one at liberty.

My husband and I stayed here for one night for a quick getaway to see a show. It was our first time in Roanoke. This hotel was the perfect spot for us. Location is prime, the staff were attentive, friendly, and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. We loved the history behind the hotel and how they preserved certain aspects of the building. We woke up wishing we could stay another night. We will definitely be back in Roanoke soon and staying at the Liberty Trust again!
