TownePlace Suites by Marriott Sacramento Cal Expo

The breakfast was good, I would say the food quality was like a Denny's, not the best but it was not bad. The staff was helpful and nice. The room quality was exceeded my expectations. The small kitchenette had a pot and pan with a set of plates glasses and utensil. I stayed at this hotel because I could walk to the Cal Expo. I did not know what part of Sacramento this was located in. That said, outside of the hotel parking area is not a safe neighborhood. I am a 6'2" male and a bigger guy and even I felt like I needed to be on alert every time I would back in the evening.

Location and staff I booked a 2 bedroom suite 2months prior. When I arrived they had no 2 bedrooms available. ☹️

A pillow menu would nice.

The sound of a compressor cycling off and on all night kept me awake. Breakfast was a greasy cold sausage, a rubbery round thing called scrambled eggs. The English muffin was good as was the yogurt. I wouldn't stay here again.

The staff was awesome. I must say though, it was very confusing to find the lobby area. The set up is weird and I came after dark. You really need more signage and bigger letters that are bright at night.

Parking is not free. As a guest we have to pay for parking.

This place has been updated relatively recently. It has a whole kitchenette in the room which is great as we were on a 2 week camping trip and this was our reset night so had everything we needed including a dishwasher with detergent ready to use. Laundry services in the building too. Easy to get back on to major highways! No issue other than nobody was on the front desk when we got there to check in about 6:30pm. Had to wait about 10 minutes but the lady was lovely when she appeared.

Our stay was okay. Room was clean. Didn't get to use pool or get the free breakfast due to late night and restricted meal times. My guests in the room were able to order room service without my authorization so I definitely didn't like that and main reason for my review rating and our door got jammed with the deadbolt stuck so unable to close door on our way out for wedding so a room cleaner stayed with door to fix the problem. Location was kind of sketchy. When checking in, no one was at the front desk and had to wait awhile before someone showed up and no luggage carts available to use. We had 2 rooms and got charged for parking for both rooms when we only had one car.

You have to pay for parking, but if it’s a busy weekend, you might pay for parking and might not be able to park in there a lot because the lot gets full. Also, there was a family that was running up and down the hallway and the staff had a hard time managing them.

The rooms were clean. The facility was nice and enclose proximity to a food and entertainment area. It also was not far from downtown. The free breakfast was also not bad. You have to pay for parking, but if it’s a busy weekend, you might pay for parking and might not be able to park in there a lot because the lot gets full. Parking is very limited and you have to pay, there is protected parking but that just means there is security officers that drive around. Beds aren’t the most comfortable but was not terrible

The staff at the property was courteous, helpful and pleasant. The cleanliness of our room was ok. The air conditioner unit plastic cover where the cold air blows out was not clean. There were spots on the floor of the bathroom that had hairs - not ours. The breakfast was ok. The area where the breakfast items were sitting was small compared to the number of people trying to get to the items.
