Towneplace Suites by Marriott Saginaw

The pool was closed, but we were offered to use the pool at their “sister” hotel next door. The workout room was very limited w/ the equipment offered. The hotel needs a complete renovation- new carpet & paint. The hallways had a very odd & dirty smell. Breakfast was meh - waffle maker, basic cereal from the dispenser, fruit, scrambled eggs & sausage, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, & to go oatmeal. A few juice options along with milk. The pros of our room: The bed was soft & for the most part very comfortable- it wasn’t overly soft/ broken where you could feel coils or other things in the mattress. Our room was a 1 bedroom suite, so it came w/ a dorm room sized fridge, kitchenette, dishwasher, & basic kitchenware. The cons of our room: The paint was chipping & stained, carpet was dirty, a couple dirty dishes in the cabinet, the top blanket on the bed was dirty on the bottom side, air did not work well in the main area w/ sofa, air worked phenomenally in the bedroom, shower pressure was non existent & took forever to drain, we found a packet w/ pills in it by the sofa, & speaking of the sofa - the “icing” on the cake. The sofa cushions were dirty & had white stains all over them- IYKYK. We had to buy an air mattress for our teen to sleep on since we were NOT using the pull out bed from the sofa & used our lawn chairs to sit on.

Upon check in, staff was rude about the reason my children and I were staying, she also asked for a card to put on file for damages, but then preauthorized $100 on the card. Upon getting into the room, the cups in the cupboard were full of food and debri, when I took them to the front desk for new ones, she insisted she couldn’t give them to me at the desk and had to bring them to my room later, not only was that uncomfortable as we weren’t even settled, but she was looking all around the room when she came up. Once we used the ice cold pool, we went to take showers, only to discover the shampoo, and body wash was locked in the holder on the wall in the shower and unusable. Upon getting out of the shower, my daughter stepped on something sharp. Looking down at the floor, I notice a tack strip exposed on the floor between carpet and bathroom floor. I brought these issues up to manager as this is unacceptable and she said sorry. That’s it. I paid $150 for a room with all these issues, and unprofessional behavior of staff. Completely unacceptable. I will not book with Marriott Bonvoy again. I am beyond upset and disappointed to spend this kind of money on a room for my family from out of town to be let down.

Breakfast was good - hot mini waffles, scrambled eggs, and sausage links as well as lots of options to top your oatmeal and yogurt. The juice machine had LOTS of flavors, but it was mostly syrup. The table in the room was big, and there were pots & pans. The guy at check-in didn't say much - nothing about breakfast time or WIFI info. There was no hand lotion in the room or laundry bag. The shower could have been cleaner, but I've seen FAR worse.

The staff at this hotel are outstanding Update furniture in room and better tv in livingroom

The front desk staff was friendly. The appliances and bathroom could use updated. Both were pretty beat up. The kitchen had one knife, spoon, and fork. This was terrible when the room was a two bedroom queen size room.

The pull out couch was filthy.

No comparison with the treatment we received at the Fairmont Hotel. That issue will be dealt with next week.

I loved the kitchen and the layout of the room.
