Hampton Inn Salem Boston

This is a great location for visiting Salem. It is in walking distance to the waterfront and all the major sites. We also used this as our main base for visiting Rockport, Gloucester and Marblehead. While the location was main selling point, the front desk staff was very friendly and had great suggestions for local restaurants. We would return to this hotel.

The rooms were fine for the most part. My biggest concern was the obvious presence of mold in the ac unit. And this is not a big deal but since when did they stop providing a small notebook and pen. I needed to go down to the front desk and there wasn’t even any up front. The woman at the front desk was nice enough to let me borrow her personal pen and bring it back. And on top of that the hotel parking is $35 dollars a day even though it is apart of the hotel…

There is no way to get drinks or food anywhere in the hotel except for some small snacks.

Everything was perfect!

Perfect location walk to town in minutes, plenty of restaurants in walking distance as well. Rooms felt a little dated. Breakfast great offerings and kept well stocked. Parking is pricey at $30 a day and I wonder if they run out of space always seemed full but its underground and secure.

Room comfortable and quiet, staff helpful and friendly. Walking distance to nearly everything we wanted to see in Salem. Walking distance to many fine restaurant options. We did not pick up on the fact that it cost $30/night to park in the garage--reasonable, but it would have been nice not to be surprised. Breakfast no better than one might expect at a mid-level motel, and in some ways less: only one flavor of yogurt, only one fresh fruit option. All things considered, we'd definitely stay there again if we were going to Salem (though we might plan on eating breakfast out).

The location is perfect it’s within walking distance to Essex st and the wharf. It was very clean including the room we stayed in and seemed like a safe enough area. The free breakfast was a plus !.

Good hot breakfast but the floor in the dining area was so dirty! We checked in on a Tuesday, notified the front desk of the dirty, sticky floors in the dining area on Wednesday and they did not mop the floors until Friday. Also, the pool was so cold you can't swim in it. However, it was a convenient location in downtown Salem.

Clean hotel, clean room, check-in was a breeze. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. There’s a microwave, mini fridge, iron, hair dryer and toiletries in the room. My room needed a little TLC but nothing major. Free breakfast throughout your stay. About .5 mile from museums but centrally located between the wharf and Essex street. I would stay here again.

Great location. Clean. Not a bad breakfast. K cup coffee machine in the room was very convenient. Parking garage on site. You do have to pay $30 a night for it Thermostat was strange. If you wanted to raise the temperature a bit so the ac would shut off at a certain degree it would switch to heat mode.

No working fan in the bathroom.

A nice hotel located within walking distance from the Salem train station, and 6 mins from the Salem Witch Trials memorial. All the main attractions are within walking distance (10min - 20 min) from the hotel. The breakfast was good and the checkin was easy.
