Hawthorne Hotel

I only have great things to say. The hotel and staff are wonderful.

We loved the history of the hotel and the central location to downtown Salem. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel had a great atmosphere. I felt like cleaning of the rooms could have been a bit better. The bathtub was peeling, as well. Some things could do with a little bit of an update.

Perfect location. Can walk everywhere. Staff excellent. Rooms comfortable. Would stay there again!

Close to all attractions

My favorite place to stay in Salem . Staff is always so friendly and super clean. This trip it was my husband and I but then we also had family members meet us on Friday and we booked another room. They also fell in love with the place. The Hawthorne will always be my top choice when coming into town.

Location was perfect!

Didn't utilize the breakfast facilities but used the bar on the first night. Staff were lovely, friendly and always cheerful. Thank you to the lady who took the extra time to say hello ❤️

The 'olde-world' feel to the place. Wonderful location. It's looking very dated and needs a BIG overhaul to keep it going as the rooms and general decor are rough-round-the-edges now. The overhaul MUST be done sympathetically, though. The history and tradition of the place is the appeal!

The Hawthorne is a gorgeous, historic and haunted hotel. Every staff member was friendly and helpful. Location is fantastic for walking to most of the sites.

Nice historic hotel in the center of everything. A little musty smell but not unexpected in an old building. It was clean and nice. Rooms are on the small side

It would have been nice to have a mini fridge in the room. This was a beautiful hotel in a great location!

Great location and historic vibe for a stay in Salem! You can walk to everything you'd want to see.

Restaurants Small bathroom

Great location with free parking. Centrally located and we were able to walk everywhere during our stay They allowed us to check in a little bit early due to a personal commitment. There was a problem with the key card reader for the room and the staff addressed the problem immediately. Everyone who worked there was very professional.. Best service we’ve ever receiived at a hotel!

Stayed for 3 nights in Salem and had a lovely time, despite the summer heat. A/C in the room worked well, and everything was pretty quiet. Comfortable beds too, we slept like a rock. If we return to the city, we will absolutely book here again!

Beautiful place and pleasant staff, very nice stay. Centrally located and walkable to shopping and attractions. A little further but still an easy walk to the train station.
