Amazing location, small rooms but great facilities and lovely staff

Location

The AC was out in our room but luckily it was cooler outside than in the room and the windows both opened. Bathrooms are TINY. Bed was too firm. Other than that it was great.

Exceptional

The Hotel is beautiful & Well maintained. From the front dest to the wonderful maintenance man We were warmly greeted by staff members. The hotel was clean and comfortable. We absolutely loved The Tavern restaurant inside. The food was delicious.

Clean location was very good

Though the room was clean and pleasant, the bathroom walls showed signs of humidity and the temperature control in the room was completely inadequate. The room was quite cold. I tried to turn on the heat on the thermostat, but the system continued to blow out cold air. I called the front desk and was told that the building was set to either air conditioning or heating -- and that at the moment, it was set to AC, even though it was only about 60 degrees F outside. The desk clerk suggested simply shutting off the system entirely. She offered extra blankets, which I did not require, but I was preparing for a medical procedure the next day and was sitting upright in bed through the evening, and therefore was quite uncomfortable sitting up in the chilly environment. The hotel's climate-control system could clearly use modernizing. It would have befitted the desk staff to offer some compensation for the discomfort.

A beautiful property in the heart of Salem. The rooms are older but the bathroom and bed is updated. It is like an old mansion. The front desk staff was very helpful and pleasant. Parking is right next to the building and free! It is right across from Essex street and the witch museum. Highly recommend!

Excellent location for staying in Salem. Room was a bit dated but clean. Staff was very nice and helpful.

Location Elevators have been not working for some time according to staff..had to take stairs...no hot water for shower...ice machines down...staff rude

We had a wonderful stay so convenient to all of the local history in the town of salem. Staff was very helpful. The only complaint I have is. Our AC did not work. We did say on the 6th floor and did not experience saying anything abnormal would definitely stay there again.

Disappointing

The location is amazing! We didn’t move our car once and staff was friendly!

The next morning, we found that the hair dryer in our room did not work, and in fact was putting out sparks when we turned it on. I went downstairs to request a replacement and was assured that housekeeping would bring one up. 15 minutes later and no response from housekeeping, I called down to the front desk and was told that they would check for me and then they hung up on me. 20 minutes later, still no hair dryer, we decided to check out and took the broken hair dryer down to the front desk. They seemed utterly unconcerned that housekeeping had not brought up a working hair dryer.

Great location, east walk to shops downtown. Clean room, very comfortable bed. Wish I could take home the pillows! The free warm apple cider and coffee was a nice touch. Highly recommend!
