This is all about location. Location. Location. It’s central to everything! I was at the end, so can’t say much about hall noise. Only one elevator was working, and that one was slow, so give yourself time to catch it. Hot water took awhile to heat up, but after it did, was good. The beds & pillows are great, I found them to be really soft and comfortable. The staff were nothing but great to me. I came in the dead heat of summer and the a/c is set pretty high and has one setting. Blast off. So if you’re not a fan of air blasting on you (I am not) this may not be the perfect place for you.

Great location and easy check in/out. Room was great with the loft upstairs for the kids. The lobby restaurant was great as well. Easy to walk the city sites from the lobby.
-
The rooftop bar was the highlight! Room was great, with high ceilings and separate toilet room from shower. Downside was parking.

This was my 5th time staying at Hotel Salem. It is always wonderful. Not only is it in a prime location the staff is so friendly. The hotel rooms are clean and comfortable. I already can't wait to return.

Great location

Great boutique hotel. The mid-century modern decor and feel is inviting. The staff was exceptional, genuinely helpful, willing to go the extra mile and very responsive. Our room was well appointed and the entire property was very clean. The breakfast at The Counter was plentiful and a great value. Would definitely recommend and would stay again.

The location is perfect!

We stayed in Salem for what was the hottest weekend in years which resulted in us spending more time in the hotel than we usually would. The hotel staff was very accommodating with all our requests during our stay and provided excellent suggestions for local places to see and eat

Great customer service

Amazing 3 rd floor room with two walls of windows looking down on Essex. Great location in the middle of everything. Modern, clean decor. Staff was awesome. Can’t say enough good things about this hotel. Would definitely stay there again.

The hotel was centrally located to everything we wanted to do in Salem. The staff were kind and even brought up warm chocolate chip cookies for my birthday! The room and property were clean. The rooftop restaurant had great views of the area.

The room was a good size and had all the necessities like a fridge, iron, hair dryer, soaps, towels, safe, etc. Bonus: robes! There were nightstands on both sides of the bed - which was great. The room needed a little maintenance; a tile was cracked and open was exposed in the shower, whoever painted the walls got a lot on the ceiling, but those didn't impact the comfort the room provided. Our room was on the 3rd floor beneath the rooftop bar and we could not hear any noise from it at all! The hallways were quiet too! Coffee in the morning is a nice perk!

a discount, something. Because of the lack of customer service I would not recommend this hotel.
-
Unfortunately, our room had a very loud buzzing/humming sound coming from the ceiling. That, in combination with very noisy neighbors with kids in the room next door made it hard to sleep both nights we were there. We were surprised that the street noise was nothing in comparison to the irritating loud noise coming from the machinery in our room! Overall, the convenience of the location made it worth it for us this vacation!

Wonderful room overlooking Essex street. Very comfortable and clean. Location is excellent, I enjoyed being able to pop in as needed for breaks.

Hotel Salem was great. The location could not be beat! Great staff. Very comfy beds and pillows.

Great place to stay.
-
Perfect location for visiting downtown. Tim at the front desk was very nice and helpful

This is a great modern, clean and well functioning hotel. It is located right on the Essex street pedestrian way and is located right in the middle of the tourist area (an assets for some travelers and a detraction for some others). I’ve stayed here twice as a solo business traveler. The micro rooms have been great for me.

The location was amazing! I would definitely stay there again. The only issue was getting all of our luggage from the car to the building. It would have been amazing if there was a system set up to address this.
