The Salem Inn

I arrived after 11pm (for a $650 - 2 night stay) walked into the assigned room and found an unmade bed with dirty covers on the couch/floor (to be put back on the bed ??Gross !!) I waited in the hallway while they tried to find a clean room (no manager on site) , was told I would have to switch to a new room in the morning and to top it all off the temporary room also had dirty bedding :( They woke me up 6hrs. later to switch rooms. NO APPOLOGIES , just a wake up call to get me out! I declined to stay another night and checked myself out . Still waiting for my $350 refund.

Room was great. Wine on the weekend was fun and breakfast was really good.

My fiancé and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Salem Inn, Curwen House. Check-in was so easy, as they offer either self check-in or check-in at the front desk. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive. Our shower wasn't draining when we arrived, but they fixed it promptly, without a trace, while we were out enjoying the shops. The location was perfect and offers many options for walking. The lot behind the building made parking a breeze! The included breakfast we enjoyed on the garden terrace was good, and the breakfast staff made our experience so memorable! Be sure to bring cash to tip them! We look forward to returning to Salem, hopefully in the near future, and will certainly stay at the Salem Inn again! Thanks so much to all the wonderful staff who made our trip so special!

This was such a fun stay! The Curwen House at Salem Inn was so gorgeous and my room was adorable. It was easy to check in, staff was helpful and it’s located on a quiet street but close to Essex St. I will absolutely be back!

Everything was fair. Room smelled like stale smoke; The mattress was not comfortable. And the carpet had sand on it .

Great location and historical charm. Loved the binder of historical lore. A lamp wasn’t working in the room.

It was close to everything Loud all night.. barely slept.. and no house keeping? Parking 3 blocks away.

Very clean and cute room. They do offer breakfast but I’m not a breakfast person so I didn’t get any. It was an awesome time.

The building and staff at Salem Inn were absolutely flawless. Especially the wait staff at the continental breakfasts -- STELLAR service, great food, and just all around excellent folks. Can't wait to come back!!

Had a great stay at this historic hotel, super clean cute room with kitchenette the hotel is very close to town. Staff were friendly and helpful and we loved the onsite breakfast.

Bed a little soft but offered to move us. We stayed all went well. We stayed in the Curwen House beautiful but if you have mobility issues stairs are steep. Suggest 1st floor. Parking excellent, location great, breakfast was good but not gourmet. Staff helpful, sheet, towel’s excellent. Would stay there again.

The room was clean and the location was wonderful for visiting Salem. It was really nice to have off-street parking onsite. The staff were friendly and helpful in navigating the check-in and check-out process. Breakfast was really good, efficient, and the staff were so lovely at breakfast too!

If you like a property that is hard to find, difficult to get your luggage up the stairs and limited amenities…this is your place.
