Well, the room was nice. The problem was it was on the third floor of a house that was 2 full blocks away from the Salem Inn. I'm a fairly in shape 72 year old, but I had to roll my 35 pound suitcase those 2 blocks, which was fine. What wasn't fine, I was on the 3rd floor. Had to drag my suitcase up 2 long staircases to get to my room. No elevator, and no staff to help. It would have been nice to have known that before booking this hotel. I know it is old time Salem, but a heads up would have been nice.

Nice rooms, helpful staff and breakfast included was also served to you not the normal buffet style food.

Thank you for a wonderful stay. Staff were all very kind. Property was clean and breakfast was great!

A little quirky - we were on the third floor, no elevator which we didn't realize. Finding the breakfast area down the road and around the corner was tricky until some helpful people pointed the stairs from the sidewalk down to the basement - to a very nice breakfast. Still a lovely experience overall.

The hotel was very nice and old, and rhe staff was very friendly and helpful. The only issue we had was the curtains were thin and light so at 5am the room was super bright (like it was noon time) other than that well worth the stay!

A quaint inn, very conveniently located. The staff was helpful, breakfast was included, and the staff in the cafe were especially helpful and nice. The bed and room were comfortable. For many of the rooms, you have to walk stairs; there is no elevator, so access may be an issue for some people. Overall, I would visit again.

Absolutely WONDERFUL from start to finish! The warm & charming welcome from Suzanne was so nice! She made us feel right at home! We stayed at the Corwen house which was Beautiful! Lovely room with the most cozy decor! The room was impeccably clean! Beds were comfortable, and the bathroom was spotless! A cool refreshing carafe of water was waiting in our room and evening Sherry was such a delight! The perfect night cap after a phenomenal day in Salem! The INN is located right across the street from Ropes Mansion and the Witch House and ESSEX street was just steps away! The location of the Salem INN was ideal!! The complimentary breakfast in the main house was delicious and freshly made! The waffles and omelets were prepared perfectly! Our stay was a 10/10! N/A

The room was very large and the decor matched the history of the area. Very romantic. The location was great for walking to a lot of the attractions. The free breakfast was excellent. There is no elevator. Breakfast was served in a different building. There are no shades in the windows, so it is very bright in the morning.

Great location: can walk to everything! Evening sherry service was a treat as well as the witch’s brew coffee in the breakfast room. We stayed one night. Comfortable bed, clean room.

Third time staying here, and just love the historic charm and easy access to all things in Salem. The room was comfortable and clean, and the staff were very communicative and helpful with any questions we had.

We had a lovely stay at the Salem Inn. Room was lovely and clean, staff was very friendly and accommodating and we had a delicious breakfast. Thank you.

Room was cozy and had the rustic historic new England charm.

An historic Inn. Liked ease and location in town. Large room. Excellent breakfasts. A strange combination of Air Bnb type technology (check in is remote and we never met a staff person) yet it is an old world Inn. Very impersonal- not what an inn should be. Rough surroundings. The bed had a cheap added pillow top which was uncomfortable. Too costly for what it is.

The restaurant staff were exceptional. They were friendly and ready to provide an excellent breakfast. The staff at the desk were another story. We came a little early. She let us put our stuff down but with an attitude. We went back after 4:00 and I guess we were expected to know that we were supposed to get a text message with the information. We came in tired from waiting and here they didn’t have our phone number. Our room was on the 1st floor near the dumb waiter and ice machine. Extremely noisy at times.

The Salem Inn is in the top 10 of hotels I have stayed in over the years (and I’m an old man so I’ve stayed in a few). It is a historic building in Salem and is very well maintained. Staff is very friendly. Room was fantastic! Complimentary breakfast was delicious. Water pressure in the shower was amazing. No elevator but there is a dumbwaiter to move luggage to the upper floors. Absolutely wonderful stay!!!

Loved our stay at the Salem Inn. The room was wonderful and loved the overall character of the house. It was the little details that impressed me too - bottle filler & ice maker downstairs, texts with check in details, book trade bookcase, etc
