Sonesta ES Suites San Antonio Northwest - Medical Center

It was close to lot of spots First pool wasn't able to b used the whole stay. Room keys kept going out. Room service never came the 4 nights we stayed. Mold in one room. Microwave rusted and not cleaned. Icebox look like it was second hand. In one room they had female panties thrown under the table. Then what kinda worried my wife and kids was the vents in bathroom right in shower area right above the shower head. They felt like there could of been cameras hidden in there. They didnt feel comfortable. Breakfast was the same everyday except when they switched up from sausage to bacon one day.

1. The ac was not working and we had to get the maintenance multiple times to fix it 2. The pool was out of service the entire time 3. The sheets had dust mites because i woke up with my eyes matted shut and red and i had to use eye drops 4. The tub had a big whole on the wall that was in repair but patch work not completed 5. The door to the room would not close properly and kept getting stuck 6. The hotel had a bad odor and smelled like a combination of mold and wet dog I asked for credit for 2 nights but management refused I emailed the manager and she never reaponded.

Suites are nice w plenty of room

The Staff was good the pool didn’t work and the basketball court and so rounds where not keep clean, give it a bad impression

They had a full breakfast that was good. Staff was friendly and help us with our needs. Rooms were clean-ish. I did see one roach crawling on the curtins in one of the rooms during our stay and I didn't see any more after that. The pool was closed for cleaning the entire time we were there we had to go across the street to swim at a neighboring hotel. I guess there was a basketball competition that week there were lots of high school boys there and they had track races down the hallways both two days and stayed up being loud sounded like a big party. I overheard someone complaining at the front desk but it was never handled. It kept on the entire time.

Breakfast needs improvement in preparation of eggs. We got to breakfast at 8:20 and everything was gone no eggs no potatoes no sausage and were told they would not make anymore cause breakfast ended at 8:30. People were turned away.

Beds are soft but you get for what you pay for.... Kids running around til 2am, room was hot, staff didn't allow people to check in til 4pm so that caused the lobby to get crowded

The staff was nice but that was about it. I didn’t like when I walked in it was already open. Sink and tub still have hair we didn’t have no towels in the room.

There are those terrible small roaches.

First encounter, front desk lady overcharged me. Room was already paid through expedia and she charged me 2 days, when I asked about why I was being charged she says room had not been paid, then realizes it had, she cancels it and then tries charging my card the $100 my account ends up being flagged as fraud and I am I a unable to use my card our entire stay while in SA. Upon entering the room, looked nice. After unloading, we noticed small roaches all around the sink/coffee area. Later we saw them in the living area behind the chair. We used the microwave later in the evening where again...larger roaches were in there. Roaches crawling across the bedroom ceiling. My granddaughter walked around and later we noticed her feet were black! We went to the tub to wash her feet and for some reason absolutely NO cold water came from the faucet. The water was scorching hot! I took a shower later in the evening without feeling any cold water coming out that way either. We had to let the water set there a good 30 minutes for the little ones to be able to bathe. Carpets feel super sticky when walking barefoot. There was a note pool was getting cleaned when we arrived Wednesday at check in and was told it would be open Thursday and it was not...it was closed all day Thursday as well. Husband enjoyed breakfast. (It wont allow to to post video of roaches on ceiling)

I've stayed here for a few years when I visit my brother who lives a stone's throw from the hotel. My room didn't have a working tv, so they gave me another room. The 2nd room the door would not open and they couldn't open it. The third room the thermostadt would not lower, so someone had to be sent to fix it, he was very nice. I'm not a fussy guest but the staff was literally annoyed with me. When I got home my credit card had been used in Turkey fraudulently. I can't say it was the hotel but I barely used it anywhere else. I will probably stay elsewhere the next time I visit my brother in San Antonio.

Convenience to purpose of visit

The room was spacious, clean, comfortable and well equipped. The hotel was in good condition and easy to find, as well as well located and connected to San Antonio. Finally, the staff were lovely and the breakfast was good - the allergen information was particularly useful. Nothing of note.

It had everything especially a basketball goal

Peaceful, clean, and affordable Shower did not work well. Very little pressure and inconsistent water flow.

Good size of bed and love the kitchen part. Unfortunately there was 1 roach in the entrance inside our room but we did killed it. There was also a musty smell in the room which I think its just the building overall is old and an old leak on top of the ceiling may have contributed the smell. Probably recommend to start updating the tv. Very outdated. Water is also very hard.

Inside the room was spacious and kitchenette and beds appeared clean. I could not enter the first room assigned, reassigned a room. which door worked on first try. Signs of significant aging on bathroom door, I stepped on a piece of glass shard in bathroom. Pool was not available.

The pool was not available and staff did not notify me of this at check in or on the website.
