Best Western Plus Island Palms Hotel & Marina

My wife and I’ve stayed at this properties several times. It is a class act… Hands-down. I say this because I want them to do better as a business, but I say Italian cheek because I don’t want anybody else to find out about it. That’s how good it is.

Room was clean, plenty of towels, had to request a new blow dryer and a coffee maker

Only negative was the 5% unauthorized charge when we ate.

On the positive side: Great location and views if you are on the harbor side. We got a room right on the loading driveway and the room was terrible. They should rent those rooms with a large discount and tell customers why the big discount. We requested and got an upgrade to a newer building, second floor. My brother's check in process had issues (we booked on Hotels.com) and his room did not have hot water. The air conditioners are old and loud. We hosted a banquet and room was good, but air cut out after awhile. Service in the dining room was terrible. Food is decent though. Pool was nice and they provided pool toys which was a plus. However pool towels nowhere to be found. You have to ask at the front desk. We had over 50 people staying for a family reunion. Overall, the family enjoyed the stay, even with a few issues. We would stay again, but be prepared to spend $$ for a better room.

Cordial and considerate check-in agent assigned (upgraded) us to a Marina-view within closer walking distance to the concert we would be attending that evening. She also offered discount coupons for dinner and breakfast which we gladly accepted and utilized. Lovely room, restful night after nearby concert, and pleasant meals in outdoor dining area (sheltered from occasional winds). Overnight parking fee $25 not unreasonable (we've paid more at other San Diego waterfront hostelries. All in all, a delightful staycation inclusive of concert and overnight accommodation. 10/10 hotel food was amazing the room was cleaned daily the staff was excellent my only suggestion is making a 21+ pool

This was my third stay at this location and it's great every time! Love the vibe of being on the marina, staff is very friendly and you can't beat the location.

This was the worst experience I’ve ever had at a hotel. Our room card would deactivate each night and we’d have to go to the front desk to get it fixed. They said repeatedly that “it happens.” Then our AC went out the last night. While the area was pretty where we stayed, I would never stay here again. Don’t recommend staying here. Book somewhere else.

Love the location next to Marina place and walkable roads for walking down the marina and many restaurants. food at the restaurant is great. Only we had 4 nights but wanted to extended to one more night and hotel was booked and I was amazed such a big hotel and couldn't accommodate our needs to stay one more night at the same room. other than that I like the place.

Hotel was amazing. The room was fantastic and very convenient. Location was incredible. Cannot wait to visit again.

Other than them running out of towels at pool pretty great trip

The room we stayed in needed a deep clean. We stayed in the building in the back near the parking structure. I think it was called the Marina. Wallpaper peeling off the wall. Behind the TV stand complete grossness, and no ventilation in the bathroom. The room as a whole seem as there was lots of moisture within. I have stayed here before but in the newer renovated side. I hope they remodel this building soon.

It was a good hotel! The location is great and is about 15mins from everything! The pools are great.

Perfect location for all beaches, downtown, and Coronado island. Close to restaurants. Great to wake up to the water views. We were on the bay side but it was beautiful to see the navy ships go by and the downtown city lights. Would stay here again Pools and hot tubs were open late and the fire place outside was charming
