Gaslamp Hostel

Excellent hostel. Exactly what a hostel should be. Well designed and well run. Very clean.

This is a fantastic little hostel. I booked a bunk in room of 8 and it was quite cozy. Very clean. A bit of noise on a saturday night but not bad at all. I slept well and had a good hot shower. Easy check in.

It was an okay place to rest your head.

This hostel is amazing. The staff is very attentive and accommodating. The staff is nice and welcoming. The rooms are clean, has charging ports in the bed. The bathrooms are clean as well as the common areas. It’s also in the perfect location. I highly recommend.

The room was plain , just a bed, a desk, and a place to hang stuff, but if you're looking for a place to just crash for the night, then the price for this place is just right. They serve snacks for breakfast, so you don't leave on an empty stomach, and there is an added attraction that they had interesting things in the lounge each evening, such as karaoke, beer pong margarita night, etc. The staff was young and delightful, all overseen by a very focused house mom (sort of). All in all, a very pleasant experience for the price.

I enjoyed everything about gaslamp hostel fr! Employees 100% helpful, friendly and very kind. The only thing i didnt like about the hostel was the smell. Like right after i open the main door then BOOOM👃😭i think its the bathrooms? Im not sure but i think we should put some airfreshners or something to get rid of the smell. Even my room i can smell it through the vents. But overall my stay was 9/10 :))

I will give a warning to people looking... it's a LOT of stairs. So it's probably not for people with bad knees lol. Otherwise, I absolutely recommend this hostel for anyone traveling to San Diego for whatever reason

Caution has a flight of stairs to enter the building, so travel light.

Be mindful of when they clean the bathroom. That limits you to just 1 other, stalls and showers are limited.

Wonderful staff and great space!

The staff were incredible! They were so helpful and sweet. Sheets, towel etc were all provided. Everything was pretty clean and nice. Definitely recommend staying in the woman-only rooms if you’re travelling by yourself:)

I reserved a private room with a full/double bed. When I arrived late, they only had a shared dorm room bunk twin with 5 other strangers. I understand this was not their issue- Engine made an error in my reservation. They have promised to contact me and make it right. But, this was a huge problem for me.

This hostel has Karaoke on Thursday night. Great way to start your night if having fun is your plan. Great idea and great host and hostess. Close to the Amtrak Santa Fe station.
