The room was very industrial. Cement floors, the shower was slippery with no rails, was in the main room. They did provide ear plugs for the noisy drunk crowd out in the street until 2:30 in the morning. The microwave was down the hall and was shared with other hotel stayers.

The front desk staff were always cordial and very helpful during our stay

If your looking for a place to stay around downtown San Diego, this is well. Nothing fancy or anything but it’s great if you’re planning or exploring San Diego and if you’re just looking for a place to stay. Staff was super friendly and my room was nice and pleasant.

Stay away from this dump. The pictures make it look like it is industrial chic but it's really prison cell grade accommodations. The guy in the room next to ours showed us a giant water bug he found in his room. We checked out immediately. They rely on people falling for the false images they show of the rooms. This place would be better used as shelter for the many homeless around the hotel.

Staff was nice, the ambience did not feel very comfortable

Excellent customer service

overall it was a great experience! Staff was great and very welcoming and accommodating. The parking was not an issue as where there is a parking garage no less than 5 steps away. I love me some air conditioned hotel rooms so that was 5 star in itself. Everything is walking distance especially petco park. I loved my stay and just having a quiet get away for the weekend. I definitely recommend especially if you don’t want to spend $1000 for a two night stay. 10/10 I’ll probably be back(:!

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Alex at the front desk answered all my questions, gave great recommendations, and helped me with early check in. The hotel itself is accurate to the pictures. Rooms aren't exactly cozy but they have what you need and lots of space. Bed was comfortable. Great place if you just need a place to sleep while you check out the area. Close proximity to nightlife so expect some noise at night but they provided ear plugs which worked well. I would stay here again.

We had an amazing stay. At first I was a little skeptical but it turned out to be a great stay. Very clean room, comfy bed and in the center of everything. Parking was very convenient. Alex was very helpful and nice. Would recommend if staying in San Diego

First time staying there and I’d definitely go back! I’m an easy one to please when it comes to hotels. The Keating is definitely a hotel to stay at when you want to be in gaslamp without being in gaslamp. It’s in the mix of all the happening spots. But my main turn on about the location…it’s diagonally across from tacos el Gordo! Plus if you need some laundry done, there’s a laundromat less than a block away. Definitely a walkers type of hotel to be at. Another major thing that they offered was the prompt text messages regarding any questions I may have or concerns! Having a person on the other end that is attentive was a major key! Room was really spacious for one and plenty room for two. Air conditioning was pretty solid, no complaints there. Just thankful that it worked lol! Parking downtown is what it is. Thankfully they did offer ways around paying either full price at other garages! Shout out to them for that help! If you haven’t been to SD, definitely ask questions and they’re eagerly ready to answer to better assist you. Lastly, it was quiet in my room and it was peaceful! Slept well during my stay in the king size bed. It is an older building, understand that and you’ll be in good hands.

Shoutout to Alex for being really attentive with my girlfriend & I. The room itself was very clean and tidy, but our bedsheets and pillowcases didn’t smell good. They smelled old. Other than that our stay was great and the location is really good.

Great rooms, staff, no inconsiderate guests, good deal with the parking garage, no microwave in rooms but there's a community one. Great experience overall

Had a wondering stay at the Hotel. Alex who works at the front desk was very helpful and friendly. Really enjoyed the spacious historic charm of the hotel room and would absolutely return for another stay.

The good: - super convenient location, walking distance to so much! - Lots of restaurants nearby - SUPER friendly & attentive staff, very accommodating & helpful - felt super safe & secure - the hotel common areas and rooms all seemed very clean - the aesthetic is not boring, kind of a cool old skool vibe with an industrial feel. Lots of big windows. - huge shower What I would change - - I wish that the bedding was nicer. They don't use fitted sheets, so the bed doesn't stay made very well. Hotel beds & bedding really give me the ick. The ONLY thing that I want to touch me while I'm sleeping are the sheets, which I assume get laundered regularly. I don't want to touch the duvet, the mattress pad, the actual mattress or the actual pillows. Because of the flat sheet situation here, the mattress just wouldn't stay covered and I slept like crap. Also, the sheets are pretty itchy, I'm pretty sure they're not great cotton sheets. The bedding is literally the only reason I didn't give five stars. The hotel is not luxurious and it's right in Gaslamp, so it's also not quiet. The building is old, but the wide staircase with the plush burgundy carpet is a cool retro vibe. I'd stay here again... and likely bring my own set of king size sheets.

Hotel was everything and more! Super friendly staff, great size rooms, beautiful view of downtown, great for downtown night life. Super close to the convention center if needed. Over all would definitely stay here again when in San Diego! Thank you :)

We would travel to San Diego just for the sole purpose of staying at this hotel. Our trip ended a few days ago, but my wife cannot stop talking about the room, the bed, and the shower. Excellent location. The staff is professional and accommodating. We will return.
