Good vibe, bar next to the pool No elevator had to carry luggage up two flights of stairs, the 25 parking fee was robbery, two vehicles 3 days $150 not cool

I loved my stay here at the Handlery everyone was super nice and the pool was amazing our room was super clean and I would 10/10 recommend again to anyone looking into staying here

All good except they need to stock the vending machines

Location is great. Close to everything! Dust. I think AC filter and curtains needs cleaning attention.

I like staying here .I feel safe and I have restaurants close to hotel.Everything was great only a strong order of dust in restroom .I would stay here again

Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to use the pool during my stay because it had to be closed after some kids had an accident in the pool. That was disappointing, but it wasn’t the hotel’s fault. One thing I really appreciated was the security. Guests need a room key to enter the building, which made me feel safe and comfortable during my stay. Overall, I enjoyed my experience and would consider staying here again.

Superb

We stayed for 4 days and one of the days our room was not cleaned. There was also construction going on in the parking lot next to our room and the workers were using noisy machinery outside our window/room at 7:30am in the morning. Also an alarm for the entry door went off due to a battery that needed replaced at 6:30am in the morning. The staff were apologetic but this was our vacation and we wanted to sleep and come back from our meeting to a clean room.

It was conveniently located in Mission Valley off the 8 freeway. Easy to navigate to many points of interest. The hotel is on the older side. There were no elevators for rooms on second floor. It's good cost-saving option, but do not expect it to be on the nicer side.

Secured area. Pretty landscape, easy access on and off the interstate. No elevator for ADA like my wife. Our 1st room ac wasn't working and I notified housekeeping staff. Asked to be moved and they complied. Swimming pool was a major reason I chose that hotel as my wife cant get into the ocean right now from her surgery. So I figured sitting down in a calm pool and hot tub would be nice instead of risking her being tossed around by the waves in the ocean. Well pool was shut down all day and when I asked the front desk to at least offer us a discount and she stated she would ask the manager. Manager never contacted me , even until now.

The outside property of The Handlery is very clean and located in a safe area of Hotel Circle. The landscaping is amazing and outside the property is clean with a really nice lobby. However the inside of the rooms is an entire different world. They are very very old, outdated and completely run down. Here was our experience. We arrived around 7pm on check in day and were given the keys to our room. As soon as we walked in there was an awful moldy smell. My wife opened the refrigerator right away and it was not working. I called the desk and they said they would send up someone to check it out. Before the maintenance person could arrive we looked up and saw used fake eyelashes stuck to the ceiling above the door. We called the desk again and asked for another room. The only good thing this hotel has going for it is the maintenance man I think his name was Valentin, he was professional and helpful. Valentin called the front and asked what room we were moving to and took us there. That night I turned the TV on and it would only get 2-3 channels the rest were static like an old antenna would put out. The TV was at least 10 years old and when I shook the cable the channels went in and out. The next morning on our way out I called about the TV. When we got back later that night someone had just bent the input cable in a way that we got about 10 channels clearly. There are dozens of hotels on Hotel Circle and I would absolutely go with ANY OTHER HOTEL THAT THIS ONE.

Great place to stay

Stay over the weekend with family . The rooms were clean but just a little too small . the only thing that we were bump about was the Saturday the pool was close for an accident which we didn’t really get to enjoy . But staff was great and the restaurant/bar they have was really convenient.

Dirty rooms. Stained blackout curtains with no sheer curtains so it was either no sunlight or no privacy. Room stunk of sweat. Linens smelled sour. Shower wouldn't drain leaving us to stand ankle deep in dirty water. No exhaust fan in bathroom. AC made a loud rattling noise. Both rooms refrigerators didn't work. The overpriced water in the vending machine was empty in the mildew stinking hallway. Everything is dated and worn out after 70 years in business it certainly shows. Maybe once upon a time this place was nice but that hasn't been for decades. We'd hoped to have a much better experience for my son and his friends on his birthday and instead we stayed at this miserable excuse for a hotel. They should raze this place to the ground and build a new hotel. I wish I never wasted my money here and you should not either unless you like staying at places that are dated, tragically overrated and utterly disappointing in nearly every way. I want my money back.

Staff was very nice. The property was quiet. I felt safe!
