Outdoor pool was great. Nice and heated. Close to the bar and restaurant which is very convenient

Everything was great especially the pool
-
2/3rds of us thought the beds were too soft and lumpy

Great location and we'll worth the money as usual. I stay here at least once a year. ADA access can be challenging.
-
Rooms are a bit run down. Staff is nice though and the location is cool.

We read some questionable reviews before staying here. I'm not sure if they reviewed the wrong property or what, because we have nothing but good things to say about this place. The rooms were extremely clean. Beds were comfortable. The lobby and restaurants looked very upscale. The pool area was wonderful. The pool was huge and they did a great job maintaining the area (lights all around, very island feel to the pool area). The staff was extremely helpful when we needed more washcloths. They delivered them to the room within minutes. When we went out in the morning, the staff came and cleaned again. The hotel is not brand new, but they have a done a fantastic job maintaining and updating it. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. The sink area in the bathroom was a tad small and we did not have "sheer curtains" to pull over our windows if we didn't want the heavy blinds closed all day (we were on the first floor, so would have liked the sheer blinds to pull while we were in there during the day). Other than those small details, everything was spot on. If you are looking for an affordable, clean, well maintained place to stay in San Diego, stay here!!!!!!

Had a funny smell and it’s slightly outdated, but it was nothing too crazy no complaints except the walls were thin and kids were loud but overall it was a good stay. Drinks at the bar were good!

No elevator, not good for seniors. Our room was very clean. Exterior a little shabby. Adequate food services. Overall, decent hotel, reasonable price, good location.

Close to the beach and a clean room with a balcony.

Brought our girls out for a quick stay before heading to the zoo and had an okay experience. Parking was easy annd located in a good prime area of Mission Valley, right off the freeway. Absolutely loved the pool! The rooms were on the smaller side, especially the bathroom. Another issue was with the restaurants. We had seen a menu provided and told there were two restaurants, but upon arrival, were told that the main restaurant was closed and only the bar/grill was open. Was not family friendly, especially since it was a huge crowd of sports fans. I imagine was great for that experience, but we wanted a simple, quiet sit down and that was not available. The staff were pretty rude when we questioned them about the situation too. Customer service was not their strong suit.

Hotel was very nice.

Bathroom door doesn't close. Had to ask for a shower curtain (there was none)!! Breakfast menu was ambiguous with what was (and was not) included!! Passkey for gates to pool and men's/ladies' rooms were a pain! Kudos to the housekeeping staff....room was very clean, AND they found and retrieved my wifes walking cane, which we forgot at checkout!! Would recommend.....

Clean room

These are old buildings dirty carpets I don’t recommend

The room was nice and the hotel is good, and the pool area is great and fun for the kids. The only bad thing is no elevator and no help to get bags to the room. Being an older guy lugging up suitcases wasnt my idea of vacation. Other than that ot was great.

Great pool, wonderful staff - easy to get to our destinations.

Great property, very clean

This is obviously an older hotel, but has been well-maintained and it shows. Clean rooms, lush grass, tidy parking lots. Very nice pool…plenty of seating and space. Nice feature to have FIFA games showing poolside! Some downsides. There are no elevators, so be aware you will need to ask for accommodations with your reservation if necessary. We didn’t realize, but the front desk staff moved us easily to a lower level. However, as far as we know, there was no way to the pool from our room that didn’t require stairs. We made it work, but some may not be able to. Also, the sink and tub in our room drained VERY slowly. But AC worked great, which is a big plus for our family! If you have kids or pets, book the rooms with the walled in grassy area. Phenomenal amenity. Parking seemed pricey at $24 per night, but felt very safe and secure. Easy access to everything. Lots of food options within 5-10 minutes so we didn’t try the restaurants on site…but nice to have them if necessary. Overall, would definitely stay again. Extended by one night and they matched the online price for me!

The hotel itself is older so if that matters to you I’d recommend somewhere else to stay!
