Nice room, close to everything

We loved our stay at the Hardrock! Excellent location near the ferry landing at the convention center. Downtown shops and restaurants within walking distance. Fun events for the holiday festivities. Poolside food and beverages were delicious and our bartenders were the best. Restful, exciting stay and plenty of time for business as well.

Checking out we explained to the Manager and he comped our Valet and Mary Jane restaurant breakfast and explained that the computers being down was something he couldn’t control and also said to email corporate for a 50% discount on our next stay. We went to the Mary Jane restaurant and the food was great and service exceptional but I received a fruit plate with a black hair and our server had bright red hair, we sat outside and it could have come from above. The restaurant manager was very apologetic and nice. Upon exiting the restaurant I noticed the record player at the restaurant desk along with 2-stand speakers playing absolutely terrible sounding audio like a mismatched connection input and I thought odd for a Rock Hotel venue. I did give her my business card and said I wish I could help to fix the sound. We did go into the gift shop and found some great soccer shirts a coffee mug and shot glass. I looked up and was trying to see where the music was coming from because the speakers on the wall wer

This is the number one place I would stay at downtown San Diego

Very friendly and helpful With such great attitudes which isn’t always the case at many hotels. So 5 stars for all the staff. The only issue I ran into was upon arrival my hot water didn’t work in my room and I stepped on a nail that was sticking out on a worn part of the carpet in the room. However maintenance and medical attention was sent right away and we were quickly moved to another room. I was super grateful to all the staff who help make me love my stay and looking forward to returning soon

The room was very comfortable and well stocked with snacks and beverages to purchase.

Our biggest disappointment was the housekeeping service. Rooms were only serviced every other day, which was unexpected for a 4-star hotel. While fresh towels were provided, it was disappointing to return to an unmade bed and a room that hadn’t been vacuumed or tidied. On one of the scheduled housekeeping days, we were out from early morning until 4:30 p.m. Housekeeping arrived around 4:45 p.m. while we were showering. I asked if they could return in about 30 minutes but was told they finished at 5:00 p.m. I then asked if they could come back closer to 5:15 p.m., but that wasn’t possible. This was disappointing from a guest experience standpoint. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. We needed to extend our late checkout because of a flight delay, and they handled the request without any issues. The pool area was enjoyable and never felt overcrowded. It is smaller than it appears in the photos, but we always had no trouble finding a comfortable place to relax. Restaurant/bar could be rowdy on game days but we don’t mind the fun/loud energy! Overall, a good hotel.

Perfect stay! Check in a breeze, staff were friendly, excellent pool/bar, and easy access to all the sights, restaurants and bars! Highly recommended and will stay again.

Hotel was fine room was clean. Location was great to walk to the bay or to gaslamp area. Lots of close restaurants and places to visit nearby.
-
Helpful staff, clean room and great location for entertainment and dining
-
The room was overall clean. Unfortunately we were stuck with neighbors with crying kids so I couldn’t sleep. The fridge was stocked already with the hotels own beverages for purchase therefore I couldn’t actually use the fridge because there was no room.

Staff at check were outstanding

Great location and place.

The room: King bed room on the smaller side but amazing view of the bay and adjacent properties. Shower leaked water and the in-room coffee maker was faulty. Service: Everyone at the hotel was friendly and helpful. Check in and check out were easy.

Staff was wonderful and very attentive. You don’t get that in other location. I’m definitely coming back again it was so much fun!
