the only issue we had with the room was that the two lamps weren’t working. we tried turning them on, but neither one worked, which was a little inconvenient, but other than that, everything was fine. as for the breakfast, we expected a little more variety. when we went, there were waffles, cereal, an apple, and a muffin, along with juice and coffee. the cups for the juice were also very small, so i expected a little more in terms of options and portions. if you’re looking for a quick and small breakfast, it’s fine, but if you’re looking for something more filling, i would recommend eating somewhere else. overall, i’d rate the stay around a 7/10. it’s not a bad place at all, and i think you get what you pay for. if you’re traveling on a budget and just need a clean, comfortable place to stay, i would recommend it. if you’re looking for more amenities or a nicer breakfast, i’d probably spend a little more on a higher end hotel.

First off. Staff was amazing and very accommodating. We had a room exchange, because When we first arrived, our room's AC was not on, and our room's window was facing the setting sun. We put it on full blast, closed the curtains, and left for dinner. After two hours. The room was still hot as ever, even hotter than the 85 degree weather outside. The exhaust fan in the restroom was not working, so there was no air circulating even with the fire open. The friendly staff gave us an upgrade to a newer room with a newer AC system. It was bearable this time. Still, the room ended up feeling damp throughout our weekend stay, even having the exhaust fan in the restroom and leaving our door open for circulation. It was weird that we needed to request our room be put on a housekeeping list to get it cleaned with towels changed, even though we were given "so not disturb" signs. The outside corridors had lots of spider webs and the elevators could use some cleaning. The light breakfast offered was only a Couple of Belgian waffle makers and pre packaged muffins. along with coffee and juice machines. It was serviceable. Though the breakfast room was always packed, and there was always a line of people wanting to make waffles. I want to repeat that the staff was super friendly and accommodating. We even had a maintenance man come up to see about our tv not working and he arrived under a minute. Would probably use this hotel if most of my time was spent off property.

The staff was accommodating to us, which was much appreciated. The room was sufficiently clean but there were minor things like a dead spider in the shower. The bed was old and to us, uncomfortable. The staff did bring us new pillows when we requested it due to the other ones being super hard and uncomfortable. The continental breakfast consisted of 2 types of cereal and waffles. We didn’t partake so not sure how those tasted. There were major issues that made me not want to return, including the unsavory people hanging around the property and doing drugs in the parking lot. Luckily the people didn’t bother anyone (that I know of) but it still made me uncomfortable, as we were two women traveling alone with our 18 month old. Luckily we didn’t spend too much time outside of our room when we weren’t seeing the sights of San Diego. Close to most of the attractions San Diego has to offer, including Sea World and Old Town. If you’re looking for an affordable place to lay your head, this is the place. If you’re looking for somewhere safe to stay with your family, maybe look elsewhere.

Staff and location are fine. Wifi is terrible, unable to access connection on my computer. Room very ugly, door doesn't close properly, elevators smell disgusting, and it needs to upgrade urgently, breakfast very low quality. Parking lot full of drug users. No Safety to stay outside. I wouldn't recommend it.

The room itself was clean, and the staff friendly, but the property is very old, run down, and many people on the property did not appear to be guests, but other ‘types’ of visitors, etc.

The room is small. It is a motel, not a hotel.

Location wise, it was good. Only that! The room wasn’t clean. The AC wasn’t ON before I checked in to the room. Never got a room service to clean even after calling them over 3 days in a row. The room was missing the iron and when I called them to bring one, this took 3 phone calls and they kinda asked me to go to their receptionist to get one. The elevator smells so bad. There is no clean water there, you need to buy it from the vending machine which is only available during working hours. Parking is $10/day — not free.

Pricing was good, however cleanliness was not a priority for the establishment.

Great place to stay close to everything

We got in and immediately there is a guy tweaked out of his mind on the stairs. We get up to our room and were given the wrong room number and walked in on another family's room while they were sleeping. Homeless people are everywhere, one homeless guy just filling up a trash bag with ice from the ice machine. People drinking and have trash outside their rooms, people who seem to be making drug deals. Do not bring your family here, it is falsely advertised.

Only 1 face towel, no hand towels. Requested additional from front desk at 8:40 pm - never arrived. Wanted to use cash for the outrageous security deposit ($150), clerk refused. Didn’t want on my card.
