    Good for the price

Another good stay. Not a fancy place, but clean. Not good in San Francisco's occasional hearwaves: no A/C. It does have a clean clawfoot bathtub,!

Amazing location to party, would not recommend if you want to relax. The mural in our room was maximalist and cool (loved it) the room fixtures are minimalist and inconvenient. Everything is small and flimsy. Very IGable.

Easy check in, clean unique room, central location, would come back again.

For the price of the room the stay was good. Until we saw the clear chair next to the desk. There was white and clear stains (I know what we're thinking) on the seat part, along with some on the floor. Luckily the bed and bathroom it's self was good.

Clean and renovated hotel with a fantastic location - right next door to Chinatown and the Financial District with tons of restaurants nearby. They have a commons room area in the lobby where it feels a little bit like a hostel and you can sit at picnic tables and eat breakfast. Our only complaint was that there is no thermostat inside the rooms and the temperature is controlled remotely. There is apparently a physical shutoff if you turn a knob on the side of the heater, but our shutoff didn't work. One night, the heating was blasting and we had to sleep with the windows open, which was kinda terrible. Otherwise, I'd totally stay here again for the location and the cheap rates.

My room was very "loud" with graffiti style decor on the walls and ceiling . So I would not have wanted to stay there with my kids bc a lot of it was NSFW. But on the whole, it was a pretty safe area, the towels and bed were clean, and no one bothered me. Other than being kind of warm some nights, it was a basic room that met my needs very well. I'd recommend for solo travelers or couples that just need a clean, safe place to stay.

Room was terrible. The walls were dirty. There was a bedroom with a bed, the other room had a very uncomfortable button couch futon. Sitting, it could barely fit 3 butts. It was considered a 2nd "sleeping area". Maybe if you are 4ft tall. There was no door between the rooms for privacy. There was a desk with a plastic chair and a tv that didn't work. The ADA accessible shower flooded the entire bathroom, so shower for the 2nd in line was walking through a big puddle into the bathroom. The ice machine was broken so we had no ice. Coffee is only in the lobby so don't plan on drinking coffee in your room when you wake up in the morning. The amenities said hand sanitizer for all guests. When i asked the person at the counter he didn't know about that and did not have sanitizer. No mini fridge so don't plan on keeping it cold if you packed food/drink. I wish I had one good thing to say but really it was miserable. Book at your own risk. The only thing offered for my terrible time was a 5% discount at Hayden Inns. Really 5%. How about some of my money back. Never again! I am sure i am forgetting some of the misery but you get the picture.

gloriified hostel, with section 8 residents, no ice, no luggage cart, mediocore amenities

Probably would not have stayed here if we knew more.

The hotel was okay overall. It was in a good location within walking distance of shops and restaurants. The staff was excellent—friendly, welcoming, and very helpful throughout our stay. However, the lack of air conditioning was a major downside. We had to sleep with the windows open, which made it difficult to get a good night’s sleep because we could hear other guests outside.

definitely a quirky spot, but i did my research beforehand! was a comfortable, clean, and safe stay for a solo female.

  • Engine customer Jun 2026

No air conditioning (and that is not often required in S.F.) but otherwise everything was fine.

  • Engine customer Jun 2026

Excellent location, friendly staff, preparing food and eating are possible only in the loby

Room was clean and beds were comfortable enough. Very bad water pressure in the shower, basically a step above a trickle of water. Mentioned it to the front desk and was told no one else had mentioned it, no other response on the subject. Probably would look at other options in the area for my next stay.

  • Engine customer Jun 2026

The room was clean and staff were nice, and location is great too. The only issue was that your washroom is shared in each floor with other guests and there is no hair drier.

  • Engine customer Jun 2026

The bad: No A/C or fan in the room and for some weird reason they decide to turn the heat on at night with no real way to turn it off. The area around the sink had no light and so shaving was hard. The bathroom had no vents or exhaust and so the entire room stank.

I stayed 5 days and it was pretty confortable

  • Engine customer Jun 2026

    Very close to Chinatown, restaurants.

Great atmosphere, reminded me of my old SRO days. Attendants were polite and cleaning services were timely and kind. I loved being in an art decorated room, mine wasn't my favorite art but it was good and also it's a roll of the dice, so whatcha gonna do? I didn't love the shared bathroom, of course, but it was also not a surprise and I've done it before so it's fine. Shower is super small. I thought at first that the blankets were very light for cold Sam Francisco but the rooms get WARM and I don't even think I used the blankets in the end. No complaints, really but it seemed like I should write something.
