Nob Hill Inn

The kitchenette was very convenient with all necessary appliances. The staff, especially Harsha and Mahesh, were outstanding in their service, efficiency and politeness. The place felt like home. Location was very convenient with a Trader Joes nearby and good transit connections such as the cable car and buses. Within a 10 minute walk to Union Square and Chinatown.

This is not a chain hotel and it is only 4 floors with both stairs and an elevator. The elevator is small but it’s an antique and works beautifully! This place has an old charm but they’ve put really nice touches on everything and is absolutely lovely! The staff are very friendly too. We will definitely stay here again in the future!

Great location. The room was spacious and well appointed. Staff were friendly and super helpful.

A couple of small things such as a trash bin (there is a small one in the bathroom, but not big enough for cups and larger items); as well as a box of tissues and a couple of water glasses.

Bed was a bit lumpy, but otherwise the room was fine!

The staff were very helpful and courteous. The suite was beautiful and the view was great too. If you are attending an event at The Masonic and want a room for the show, this is the spot!

We booked it specifically because it had a kitchenette, but beyond that, we encountered a truly home-like atmosphere—it felt just like a lovely Airbnb. I highly recommend it.

Comfy beds, easy check in, spacious, fireplace - I was upgraded to a bigger room. Never saw anyone at front desk - sink was not draining, needed late check out / to leave my bags but no one replied to messages. All windows faced a building, no natural light. No room cleaning / turn down service.

Everything was perfect. Will definitely return again!

Our room was clean and extremely comfortable, especially the bed. The staff were so friendly and helpful. We will certainly return and highly recommend this beautiful inn.

Faulty electricity in my room, each morning when I would blow dry my hair (with the hotel provided blow dryer), I would flip the breaker.

Shower pressure was not strong difficult to rinse. Towel had makeup on it sid not get fresh towels

I looked forward to a relaxing soak in the Duravit bathtub each evening, a small indulgence that made the experience feel restorative. What truly made my stay special, however, was the people. The owners and staff were warm, gracious, and genuinely attentive—greeting me each morning and always available to assist with anything I needed. Their hospitality gave the Inn a personal, home-like atmosphere that’s rare to find. For anyone seeking a refined yet comfortable stay in San Francisco, the Nob Hill Inn is a gem I would gladly return to.

Unfortunately, we experienced several issues that left us dissatisfied: 1. When we arrived, the bathroom was dirty. There was a used towel behind the door, and the ones hanging looked as if they had already been used. 2. The power kept going out in our room (not the whole hotel, just our room). The first time we reported it, the staff reset the breakers and explained it was due to overload. After that, we had to reset them ourselves every day. 3. Housekeeping never cleaned our room, even though we placed the “Make the room, please” sign. We had to go down ourselves to ask for clean towels. 4. On the last two days, there was no hot water—we had to shower with cold water.

Enjoyed the stay

Shri from the hotel welcomed us with great care. The hotel’s design and rooms are exceptional, warm and inviting, yet reminiscent of a grand 20th-century mansion. The mattress was super comfortable, and the room included a fireplace and was well equipped. Everything was spotless and very well managed. We had a wonderful time staying there and 100% recommend it.

Perfect location for exploring SF on foot. Safe area, spacious room. Only having coffee/tea from 7 to 10. Would be nice to have it a bit later.

Beautiful location. Vintage decor. Cool old building. Very old SanFran vibe. Staff was exceptional. Great people. Great value for the money. Of course, the decor is a little old, which was expected. But the room was a bit musty.
