2 things will stay with me about our stay - the staff and the lobby/library. The staff were wonderful! We had a few issues with our first room but after we were moved, things were great. Staff were also super helpful with food recommendations and just helpful and fun in general. We used the library every day as "our living room" as per the staff. It was great. All the great seating areas were a fun way for us to gather after our day's activities. Lobby is breathtaking. Free (really good) coffee in the morning was clutch. Rooms could definitely use an update. Our first room - the AC, safe and fridge didn't work AND the toilet kept running. They did send someone up look at it and he did fix the safe, fridge and toilet...but AC was not something they could remedy easily so we switched rooms. Location is right on the border of the Tenderloin so you should be mindful of which direction you walk. Personally, coming from and being familiar with big cities, I felt fine walking through the hotel's neighborhood...but some may feel uncomfortable after dark. BUT It is in a great location being by Union Square and a nice leisurely walk to Chinatown if you're willing to walk some hills.

Five stars for The Marker! The staff here are generously accommodating and truly made our stay special. We were celebrating my daughter's 30th birthday, and their hospitality made it a trip to remember. Beautiful hotel and excellent customer service. Highly recommend!

Great spot to stay in SF, quite centrally located on Geary. Rooms are super comfortable and well decorated and the staff was extremely helpful. There is free coffee downstairs in the library in the morning, which is also a great spot to do a little reading. The attached restaurant and bar is quite small but it was nice to get a free drink voucher on check in. The only downside is the proximity to some slightly seedier areas a block down on O’Farrell. On the other hand there is a nice little market across the street for any things you might need and there are a few nice bars just a block west on Geary, as well as some cool restaurants and bars north of the hotel. Would definitely stay here again.

Great location as a base for exploring San Francisco. Excellent value for money compared to other hotels in the area. Room was a little tired but that was fine and reflected in the price. Staff were very friendly.

We really enjoyed our stay at The Marker. The hotel had a classic style which gave it a lot of character, while still being very comfortable. The service was excellent throughout our stay, and the location worked really well for us—it’s within easy walking distance of a lot of the places we wanted to visit in San Francisco. The price was reasonable, especially given the location and quality of the hotel. Overall, The Marker was comfortable, convenient, distinctive, and a great value. I would stay there again.

We found the check-in process to be smooth and the staff helpful We were able to get into our rooms before before the 3 o’clock check-in time.. They brought extra towels when we needed them. They provide us information on the cable cars. Having coffee in that extra space down off was great. I wish that the hotel provided robes in the rooms and thought the overnight parking was steep.

Hotel is beautiful… the area is a bit sketchy. But if you Uber in and out it is a wonderful place to stay. But not so sketchy during the day, lots of places to eat and things to see.

Old charm, centrally located

The staff was amazing Charles at the front desk welcomed us and made everyone he came in contact with feel like a VIP not only at check in but every time we past by the desk checking on us making sure we were good. We read about lots of homeless people there is a few but definitely not a bother and the hotel it self is very secure always a front door person. The restaurant in the hotel is amazing Vidal the bartender was entertaining and always had great suggestions for dinner. It was a perfect stay
