The staff was very friendly and helpful when I first arrived. Helped with unloading my luggage from my car to the lobby. The rooms were clean and would come back to a clean room which is the best feeling

Beautiful architecture from 1910. Huge fireplace and marble stairway, a second room with very comfortable common space and fireplace. Free coffee in the morning and water purifiers and ice on odd numbered floors. Yards away from A.C.T. plays and plenty of restaurants and Union Square. Parking garage around the corner. Rooms are decent, but they could benefit with an upgrade. We'd stay there again.

A classic hotel with a good atmosphere. As the building is old and is located in the middle of the city, it would be better if the windows, etc. are kept cleaner. The room itself was clean with good amenities. It was quite noisy at night though. I also did not feel safe in the neighborhood. Free wine and coffee service in the morning was good!

The Marker made for an excellent stay. Brian at the front desk was phenomenal, and Patricia at Tratto (bar) provided stellar service.

Hotel is cute and very San Francisco. Large rooms and bathroom. Lobby and common areas are really nice, Some things are dated and has very little amenities. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.

The Marker is a kitchy hotel in the heart of San Francisco with a staff that is both helpful and eclectic. The hotel does the diversity and funkiness of the city justice. The housekeeping staff in particular is a whirlwind of activity that is refreshing in an era where hotel housekeeping staffs have been cut to the bone and you’re lucky to get a fresh towel let alone extra. While some decor choices might make you go, “huh?!” You won’t be able to decide if the decorating is brilliant and hip or just a little off. But if you decide the later, it’ll be JUST A LITTLE off, and you’ll still love the other 95% of the stay.

Very nice place! Classic old-style urban hotel! Beautifully appointed throughout and the staff was great! Maybe they could upgrade to 2-ply TP in the rooms, though?

The hotel lobby is older and does not present well. My first impression was poor. The room was terrible. There was no safe in the room for your belongings; the furnishings looked to be from a thrift store. The refrigerator smelled bad when opened. After sitting in the room for a couple of minutes, I decided to cancel my reservation and left. I cannot recommend this hotel.
