The Westin St. Francis San Francisco on Union Square

Excellent property if this is the location you’re looking for.

Excellent location, the property is very old Hollywood glam. We loved it! The onsite restaurants is the only area of opportunity. Grand King room was spacious and had an excellent view of the Golden Gate Bridge, Coit tower and Transamerica building.

Excellent place to stay but parking was very expensive

Pretty chill stay! This hotel has a lot of charm and history, and I would easily book again. The only reason this was not a 5 star experience is that when I queued to check in, the desk staff didn’t proactively greet or acknowledge the growing queue, and the way they created separate lines for members and non-members was confusing. Other guests in line behind me were equally confused if we were in the right line, etc..

Cons: While our room was clean, it did have a musty smell. Our room had a balcony but I literally couldn’t get the door open because the lock was too hard for me to turn. Just old and in need of replacement. And for a hotel of its size and caliber, only having one small counter service restaurant for breakfast is inadequate. Coffee was also quite bad at the cafe.

Very spacious, clean room with a comfortable bed. I had an inner room, which reduced the street noise. Hotel is minutes away walking distance of the Powell BART station. Very centralized to many restaurants, shopping and city sights. Will definitely be staying here again.

close enough to walk around. getting a car was so easy. The 10$ uber credit and 20$ food and beverage credit everyday was awesome. Hotel was pretty, rooms were clean and spacious. Bar was lovely as well and busy.

The staff were extremely helpful and courteous. Love the fact that it’s in a heart of Union Square where there is so much to see and do.

The staff was wondering

Union square is overrated and the retail is dying as can be visible by the vacant spots available. Better find something on the other side of the town if you really want to enjoy your trip.

I think it’s the best hotel in union Square

Wonderful hotel with rich history right in the heart of SF. Close to everything, Union Squre, Macys, Bart, numerous restaurants etc.. The bed was very comfortable and a great bar/restaurant on the premises.

The classic San Francisco! Where should I begin?? Everything was so immaculate! Service flawless; Rooms were perfectly clean and beds were perfectly comfortable. Of course the hotel is old but boy they have maintained it so well ! Its right at Union Square so you already won in terms of location! Its central to everything and you can pick and choose any of the public transportation modes that SFO provides right outside of the hotel. We loved it and will definitely come back again.

They just updated this property and it is STUNNING! The hallways, bar and room, bring in the San Francisco modern, but classic charm. The rooms are HUGE! Location Amazing, just out the door and hop on the cable car or walk accross the street to get pastrys and shopping. The staff was incredible too, from check in staff, the bartender, and concierges.
