I would live a vanity kit (qtip, cotton balls, make up remover)

They just updated this property and it is STUNNING! The hallways, bar and room, bring in the San Francisco modern, but classic charm. The rooms are HUGE! Location Amazing, just out the door and hop on the cable car or walk accross the street to get pastrys and shopping. The staff was incredible too, from check in staff, the bartender, and concierges.

Loved it

One of the best places to stay in San Francisco. Clean property, great rooms and the price is always right. You definitely get what you pay for here.
-
The room had the shower curtain hanging off and the soap and shampoo were completely empty

Property was fine but the flight was delayed.

We’ve stayed at the Westin St Francis multiple times over the years and always looked forward to returning. Unfortunately, this once grand old hotel is grand no more. The Powell street lobby entrance has been invaded by a huge bar/lounge that looks cool but doesn’t open until 4pm. It takes up a lot of prime real estate in the hotel and serves no real purpose for the better part of the day. To check into the hotel you now enter on Geary into an area that feels temporary, kind of like the vibe you get at an airport gate under construction. It’s just very disjointed. The fake cherry trees and fake flower wrapped columns in the lobby are tacky, and dusty. Two of my family members had sneezing fits while standing under the faux blooms. They chuckled about the paper flower pollen being particularly bad this time of year. The hotel has also done away with any lobby seating. Your only hope of seating is in the garden cafe, which makes it feel a bit like a Greyhound bus station. Some of the registration staff were better at their jobs than others, who seemed generally malcontent. We stayed in the Tower this trip; the best part was the amazing view from our room and the super fast glass elevators. Happily, the mattresses are wonderful. Our room was ok but could use a refresh. One family member found litter in his room. Thinking back on past stays, maybe the rooms were always a bit outdated but the majesty of the hotel overshadowed any shortcomings. Sadly, for us the magic is gone.

The only thing I did not understand is how can a hotel of this status close room service at 11pm. It was very weird.

The room was so comfortable . Great shopping . Great area to stay for your first time .
-
Best value for downtown SF. Large, modern, comfortable rooms and bathrooms. I’d like to see another entrance off Union square that doesn’t route through the busy bar for walk ins & the fake flowers in the foyer could go but it’s worth it for the quality of the rooms for the price when compared with other hotels in the area.

Super posh, excellent service! Geoge the bellhop was outstanding…Javier the doorman was rockstar… Highly recommend!
-
Was a great visit service was great, food was good and the only negative was the room had a dirty glass (lipstick).
-
very plush upmarket historic hotel. very spacious clean room. good location if you want to be around union square needs a breakfast room rather than just the cafe
-

They failed to clean my room one day even with the DND sign off. I got back at 8:30pm to the room and reported it to housekeeping. They said they would send someone up right away they did not. I received a call at 11pm from housekeeping telling me they cleaned the wrong room and should they come up now. I advised I was asleep and they woke me up and not to come to the room. Less then thrilled with housekeeping and that it took over 2 hours for someone to contact me.
