Such a disappointment! Don’t stay here.
-
Great stay! Pool opens at 6am which was great to be able to use so early. Staff was friendly.
-
No fridge in room.

At check in I learned the airport shuttle only starts at 5 a.m. (I usually stay at the Sonesta, where the shuttle is available on demand.) the shuttle is small and barely had room for everyone waiting. The Delta bag drop line had about 30 people waiting, so that posed a big delay before my early flight. Doubletree should make it clear at booking the shuttle doesn’t begin until 5 and is first come, first served in a small van. Otherwise I would not have stayed there—and won’t again.

The rooms and property in general are neat, clean, well maintained and reasonably priced. The best on-demand hot water I’ve ever experienced in a hotel. The only negative is the room decor is a little dated. Well maintained but showing its age.

The pool and the staff!

Customer service and the warm cookies are excellent!! Each time we go to San Jose, we always stay here because the food and drinks is so good in the lobby lounge, the pool and jacuzzi beats any I've stayed at; both lounge and pool are open till 11pm, like what!! And OMG, you get a real nice swim becauae the pool os deep!! The rooms are older and they used a strong furniture spray, but great amenities including the balcony. Coffee at stand is the best too when you are on the go!!! I don't stay anywhere else out here, always my # 1 !! Thanks so much San Jose DT!! We shall see you soon!!

Staff were very helpful. Room clean but need to focus on liquids. Shampoos and conditioners as well as liquid soup on sinks. Need to be refilled.
-
Very impersonal staff. They don’t have in room dining options. Not any better than a regular low priced motel.
-
Very dated hotel and in many ways run-down. Very noticeable smell of old smoke in room. Friendly staff did help me move rooms to one with newer carpet. Have nothing against the staff — the hotel itself is just not up to par. The cost they are able to charge is purely because of location. Know before you go.
-
The room hasn’t been updated in decades. The carpet was very old, stained, dirty and gross. The bathtub and toilet made regular bubbling noises in the night.

The hotel is comfortable and convenient
-
Great hotel, staff and location to airport and travel links to city.

Unfortunately, overnight someone broke into our car by smashing the window. We later learned that six other vehicles in the same parking area were also broken into that night. We filed a police report, and according to the responding officers, hotel security stated that the parking lot cameras were not functioning. We were then told by the hotel security that their insurance would take care of it, so we didn't run the repairs through our insurance.. Fortunately, we did not leave any valuables in the vehicle, so nothing was stolen. However, we were left with the cost and inconvenience of replacing the broken window. Afterward, the hotel's insurance company contacted us and informed us they would not cover any of the damages. What started as a $300 hotel stay ended up costing us much more $$$ after repairs. If vehicle security is important to you, I would recommend considering one of the other hotels in the area that offers secure parking with functioning surveillance. This experience was a major disappointment and not what we expected from a Hilton property.
