University Inn

The faucet in the Bathroom was not even connected. It was an easy fix the was not done. When called to the attention of the front desk they were dismissive and said "oh a plumber was called" Paint was peeling around the frames of the room doors. Staff was rude questioning my daughter's honesty to not party even when told she had my granddaughter with her. I will not use the hotel again. Lousy room maintenance --poor upkeep of facility - rude staff. Three strikes.

Clean and cheap room for slo. The breakfast could be improved.

We were very impressed with the breakfast and coffee service and were delighted to have made service daily. That is unusual these days! The property was also very up-dated and beautiful. Everything we could want!

No parking places. Horrible parking. For breakfast they did not have drinks just a sign that read $1 for water and juice. When we arrived I rang a doorbell for assistance and it took a long time to get someone. Definitely overpriced. When I took my shower it kept whistling and I couldn’t get it to stop.

GREAT experience. Will use this hotel when I come into SLO again.

We had a wonderful stay! The location is very convenient, just a short distance from Cal Poly SLO and easy to get around San Luis Obispo.The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The staff was friendly and welcoming, which made us feel at home right away. The atmosphere was quiet and relaxing, making our stay even more enjoyable.We would definitely recommend this place and would be happy to stay here again!

Hotel was decent

I’m a hotel, not motel, person & did alot of research before booking The University Inn Motel in SLO. It was a getaway for my mom’s birthday weekend. The hotel staff, especially the owner’s aunt are very nice and welcoming. The morning we checked out, we had missed breakfast & she brought us out bananas & danishes to go along with our coffee for our trip home. She was sick a sweet woman and pleasant to talk with. The motel had a renovation about 2 years ago. There is no carpeting, which I liked. The shower had good water pressure & it was super clean. While there is a refrigerator, there is not a coffee pot, but a Keurig is in the lobby with sugar & creamers. The parking is ample, the rooms clean, the maids were so nice & it was quiet. To the right is the Apple Tree Farm Restaurant & to the left are many shops. I have no complaints. It was the perfect spot to stay. We will definitely be back for our next mother & daughter trip.

Room and bathroom were clean. Soft bedding and towels. I appreciate the breakfast ( pre-packaged sandwich, coffee, danishes, and bananas)

Hotel is old. Room floor is sticky. Bathroom fan didn't work so it's full of steam after showing. Toilet seat is kids size.

Parking is close to our room. The location, nice view.

if you're staying for 1-2 nights and not planning being in the room all day, it's a perfect place to put your head down and rest. wifi was stable.

The saving grace about this Inn was the location. Unfortunately, convenience does not trump safety or peace. There was an unauthorized room entry to my suite and the door was left wide open with all of my belongings inside. I reported this to the front desk and I emailed the property. It has been 3 days now and there has not been a resolution nor a response. I reported it once more to the front desk when I checked out. 3 attempts and no effort to respond. Very disappointing. The walls are super thin. You can hear all conversation of your neighbors. If they watch TV, it's as you were in their room. The street is very loud during the night at times. I would spend more and stay at a better place.

This is my go-to place when I visit my daughter at Cal Poly SLO. It’s quiet, clean, affordable and centrally located to all things. The staff is kind, friendly, and helpful.

Hotel was nice and clean. Super close to campus. Only downfall was 1 black out curtain and nothing else so if you want to open your bling EVERYONE sees you.
