Vagabond Inn San Luis Obispo

Considering there was an additional charge for rooming our dog(which we would imagine is for cleaning charges), the room was not very well maintained. There was dust on all of the edges, headboards, top of television, etc. spots on all the walls. The reading lights did not work. The refrigerator barely kept things cool. There were long hairs in the bathtub. The coffee machine was filthy. The hairdryer was filled with dust. The only bright side were brand new towels. This stay was less than adequate for the price. We were fooled by the photos on the website. It certainly implied that it was a recent update and well maintained. This is not the case. The room really could use a total makeover. It was extremely stark. We’ll never stay here again.

While we booked here primarily for the additional (3rd) bed and we appreciated the room to spread out, the property & room left A LOT to be desired. The beds were hastily made, the baseboards and floors had not been cleaned well, there were gross marks on the wall in the bathroom, and the general smell of the room was… unpleasant. After a long driving day, we checked in late & knew we would be leaving early so trying to find another accommodation was not a worthwhile option so we dealt with it, but this is definitely not a property we would recommend if substantial improvements aren’t made.

First time I came here a year ago was great, but I visited again this time maybe I got a bad room? No screen on the window to the bathroom, so zero privacy with the window open and anything can get in. I HAD to open the window because there was a terrible smell coming from the drains. Made my whole room smell. Overall was moderately clean with some dings here and there. My room was also on the bottom right next to the housekeeping supply room, so it was very noisy. Walls are a bit thin. Maybe I just needed room on the top floor? Will give it another shot because the first time I had an excellent experience and I was on the top floor

Pillows need replacing. I couldn’t use them and slept on a towel. My mother used them and woke with a stiff neck in the morning.

Over all good stay no problems

Forgive me if I am wrong on this, but I think I read somewhere that there is always coffee and tea in the lobby. The lobby, however, isn't always open. On the flip side, the staff was VERY responsive when I locked myself out of my room. Even though I awoke the staff person, they made a new entry card, and gave it to me with a smile!

Great location off the freeway and next to Mondonna Inn. They got rid of the pool.

The stay was pleasant, very clean, quiet, the staff was helpful, easy parking. I have stayed here multiple times for work and would recommend to family and friends.

Stay was great. Helpful staff, felt safe & easy access to everything. A bit older facilities but I was pleased with everything.

Nice solo traveler clean room happy with stay

Great place for a clean, safe place to rest your head. Walking distance to restaurant including the famous Madonna in. Don't let the reasonable room rates fool you. Worth the price. I'm travel solo/female often stay here, my safe pit stop for a goodnight sleep.

Parking was close to the room. Check-in was easy and they welcomed my service dog which a lot of hotels do not.

If you are looking for a cheap place to stay you might be okay staying here. You should know that there are no amenities. The beds were saggy. There was something gross spattered on the wall behind the door in the bathroom. We got a suite. There was a tv in the main room, but not the bedroom. I had to stand on the bathroom counter to turn on the AC. Just not my favorite place to stay.

Great service. Clean rooms and conveniently located.

Room was clean, but very small and had a strange smell. You get what you pay for but definitely over priced.

The sheets felt like they had sand on them Maybe didn’t get washed properly Coffee machine looked old no cups had duck tape on the ice bucket the door to the bathroom door on the bottom was peeling
