The room where we stayed had a nice view of Stearns What but our tub after two days had a few bugs sticking on the tub so I did not use the tub.It was dirty and had hole on the blinds, there was no towel rack to hang towel so I had to pull the coffee table by the shower to place the towels and shampoo and toiletries. No closet to hang clothes. Bathroom was small and didn’t have a vent to let out the smell. The housekeeping knocked in our room to check if she can clean but told her to come back later bc hubby was showering but she never came back. We even left a tip for housekeeping but no show

Cons: Unfortunately, the property itself is not well maintained and does not live up to the aesthetic presented online. More importantly, the customer service after my stay has been extremely disappointing. I have made multiple attempts to contact the property by phone and email regarding an erroneous charge on my credit card. I left messages and sent emails, yet I have still not received a single response or return call. Attempts were made to contact the property on my behalf and was unsuccessful, which speaks volume about the lack of communication and customer service at this property. Based on other reviews, I am apparently not the only guest who has experienced issues with questionable or incorrect charges and difficulty getting a response. I find it hard to understand how a business in the hospitality industry can operate with this level of customer service or continue receiving such high ratings. I have never experienced this level of disregard from a hotel. Regardless of how nice the property may appear, the lack of accountability and communication completely overshadowed any positives. Based on my experience, I would not stay here again or recommend giving this property your business.

AC was broken in our room and 3 others I knew of. Ceiling light ands fan weren’t operational. Found a vape pen in bathrobe pocket which means it wasn’t laundered.

location is great but would not stay there again

This is simply a basic place to lay your head—nothing fancy. The advertised pool is actually across the street at another one of their properties, and it could use some cleaning. The gardens, wine, and charcuterie hour were very basic and not quite as described. The grounds could also use better lawn care and general maintenance. However, if you’re only looking for a basic place to sleep, this will do.

Room was very dirty and dated, included breakfast but there was no water, no milk no English speaking staff, and soggy cereal and very limited other food out. No hot drinks out so we skipped breakfast. Then I was charged an amount to my credit card unusually and unauthorised. I disputed via Expedia to be told there was a stained towel. I asked for proof but was ignored and have since raised with credit card provider. Wouldn’t mind but the bedding was also stained and disgusting. Only thing this place has going for it is location and free parking.

Perfect Location!!

The staff was very friendly and more than accommodating. Location couldn’t be better! Literally across the street from the beach and a 5 min walk to the pier.

Great hotel, beautiful design and decor, friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms with a fridge and microwave, free safe parking (although limited, get there early) beautiful and relaxing pool area and most importantly prime location!!! Hotel is across the steet from the beach and the warf as well as walking distance to state street, shops, restaurants and tourists spots. Highly recommend and will definatly be coming back to stay here.

Placed in the alley in an unumbered room aka 120 per the desk clerk. Bed spread cover had to very visible stains, gross!. Spider in the bathtub. The front upper deck where you can hang out had beer cans and trash spread out on the deck. And the worst part. The air conditioning did not work to cool the room at all. It was very humid like being a lundry room. Checked in at 3pm, left at 8pm that night and drove home in disgust. Absouletly no way you could sleep in a room that hot. This place rates less than a 1 on a 1-5 scale. Worse place I have ever stayed in my life... With tax the room was over $400.00. Every hotel in Santa Barbara has to be better, cleaner, etc.

Beautiful location, great staff, and spacious room

This hotel has the potential to be extremely quaint and cute. Positives were the excellent location across from the beach and walking distance to State St., very friendly front desk staff and nice snacks and breakfast in the morning. Unfortunately, the room reeked of cigarette smoke, the shower was filled with black mold, the jacuzzi tub had about an inch of water left sitting in the bottom, and the room was cluttered with an odd array of furniture. If there was a bit more effort put into cleaning the rooms, maybe removing some of the cluttery old furniture from the room, and a coat of paint, i'd love to stay here again because the building itself is beautiful and historic. Honestly a shame to see a property like this let to get to this state.

Very good

The location was perfect for a beach retreat. I booked in the Fall to get the best summer rate which was 1/3 the cost if I had booked in the summer. The bed was comfortable and the room seemed pretty clean (except for the broom, dustpan, and dirty rag on the chair) until the light was better the next morning...The walls looked like they were splattered with wine when the sun came up and we had not drank anything but water. 😒 🤔

The room, staff and location were absolutely phenomenal. Literally right across the street from the beach and the little patio on the second story overlooked the beach. Only complaint is the walls are THIN! The whole time we listened to a little kid run about 10 miles back and forth the whole time. If you’re a light sleeper, consider getting the second story since you will hear every footstep above.

While I rated the ameneties and staff as 3 our of 5, the place itself is a 5 out of 5 if you understand what you are paying for. We needed a place to stay for a night for a courthouse wedding. It had parking, it was across the street from the ocean, and it was a 10 minute walk from downtown SB. If you have ever used the cliche "we just need a place to sleep", then this is perfect. Bed was comfy, the AC worked well enough. So if you are just needing a place to sleep, this is your go to. You can't beat the price or location.
