This hostel is such a vibe. You feel so calm and regulated with you are in this space. I loved that I met other people and even hang out together at the beach. ITH also has different activities for guests which are superfun.

This was my first time staying at a hostel. It was a great experience!!!! The 3 hostesses that I met were amazing!!!!!

Loved that the Amtrak Train station is directly behind the hostel, like 20 steps away at the most. Place is very clean, the breakfasts are great. Staff is wonderful and helpful. Plenty of activities that are a part of you stay, including some dinners. Also within walking distance of the beach and wonderful shops.

What a gem this place is! A welcoming, safe place to land as a solo traveler. The staff are full of warmth and kindness. Thank you!💖

Location Common area / lobby Bathrooms The person at the reception (I couldn’t even tell whether it was a girl or a guy) - was extremely rude and seemed very unhappy. When I first checked in, they reluctantly showed me around and rushed through everything just so they could go outside and play some game with the other people. They were barely at the reception desk when I needed help. There is also no air conditioning in the rooms. We had small fans that basically just circulated the hot air around, and I actually started feeling sick during the night because of the heat.

Really nice location, outstanding staff, this is a winner! Excellent value for my overnight stay. I even got eggs, bananas, and pancakes with my coffee in the morning, which I didn’t even expect.

Very close to downtown and the beach. Can stay here without a car if plan is only going around Santa Barbara and staying close to places served by MTB bus lines. For a hostel, they were able to keep the bathrooms and the whole place clean and free of unpleasant smells. The staff is very warm and friendly which makes them stand out from regular hotels which can feel impersonal. A bit run down. Needs a bit of TLC in maintaining the building as well as fixing/ replacing broken fixtures like wall plugs and portable fans inside the bunk stalls. Would be really helpful especially during 90 degree weather. Would also be nice if they can provide free drinking water all day to fill up our portable water containers to stay hydrated.

I had a good experience. Location was excellent. 2 blocks away from State Street and right across the street from the train station. Bicycles for rent at the train station. It was nice to have coffee in the morning, ice and water and refrigerator for personal items were available. I would stay there again if the opportunity presented itself.

This is a popular spot and reasonably priced. Expect other guests to be in all spaces 24/7. The dorm rooms are barely large enough to open a medium suitcase. Bring a lock. Since the dorm space is cramped, you will need to store your belongings in a locker outside of the room. The only thing I found was a minor irritant were the occasional ant or two in the lounge and the showers in the bathroom. I would still recommend a stay here if you like a community environment and a good value for your money.

Chill and beachy vibes. Mostly welcoming and friendly staff. Well maintained facilities. I really loved the capsule style bunk beds with curtain, fan, lamp, power and shelf. Cool outdoor hangout area. There was was staff member who was stomping around and didnt acknowledge me even while she was serving me. Weird vibes. Also didnt love the small size of the dorm room - not much space to put your stuff. And the only window in the room opened to the street and we had to leave it open over night to get any cool air so I felt nervous all night about someone climbing through while we were sleeping...

This is a special place. A hostel like hostels should be with a welcoming space and hosts and guests that easily build a community. Had the pleasure of being there for 3 nights I had the best time. First got off my train to only go over the tracks to see the beach a 2 minute straight walk and the hostel right beside the station and just outside of town centre. Great area. Great atmosphere. Places like these give me hope for humanity.
