The location is great, but unfortunately that was about the only positive for me. There is only street parking, no air conditioning, and my room was filthy, from the linens to the bathtub. The entire property felt neglected rather than simply old or charming. The icing on the cake was discovering that a hole in my front door had been “repaired” by wadding up a piece of paper towel and stuffing it into the hole. That pretty much summed up the level of maintenance I encountered. Villa Rosa has so much potential because of its location, but the condition and cleanliness were unacceptable during my stay. Read the recent reviews and look at traveler photos before booking. I wish I had.

It appeared like there were not enough people working there as long wait times at reception. When they were there they did help though. The breakfast here can only be described as very basic at best, not great quality or choice and a cramped space which was a shame. There was no AC in our room, not sure if that is for the whole hotel. We asked what could be done and to be fair they arranged for us to moved to the hotel next door (same owners). This did have working AC but the room smelt of weed/smoke and we noticed the smoke sensor had a bag over it. last issue was that we booked through Expedia but paid at property, and they overcharged us. I had to go between Expedia and the hotel raising the issue as neither took responsibility. At first the hotel over charged us again but eventually after a few days of escalating/chasing the correct price was charged but this did affect our experience here unfortunately.

Parking is limited, but I eventually did get a spot. No AC. But for evening, it doesn't really matter, because it cools down quite a bit, but if planning to spend anytime in the room, the rooms we had number 5. And number 8 were very, very hot. We also had a weird situation with the heater turning on and making funny sounds. Maybe not turning on, but making funny sounds for an hour or 2 late in the evening. Overall, very good, great location.

The best thing about Villa Rosa Inn is definitely the location. It is very close to the beach and waterfront, and our room had a lot of space, which I really appreciated. However, at over $500 per night, I expected much more for the price. The inn advertises a continental breakfast, but what was provided was very limited and, in my opinion, not very good. The breakfast did not come close to matching what I would expect at that price point. The location and spacious room were positives, but overall I felt the stay was significantly overpriced for what was offered. I would consider staying here again at a much lower rate, primarily because of the excellent location, but I would not pay over $500 a night again.

breakfast was fine, We enjoyed the afternoon complimentary wine and hors d'oeuvres. the pool and spa were nice. Location was excellent to the beach and wharf, with many restaurants in walking distance. All was fine.

    Beautiful

  • Engine customer Aug 2026

dirty, broken windows, sand in the hot tub, broken plaster in the pool, no air conditioning, no help at the front desk or via their phone line most of the time.

The cleanliness could have been better. I walked around in my socks and they picked up some dust and small debris; I killed a small bug on the floor of the bedroom and the room was not cleaned while we were out; the trash pilled up, we used the same towels, the beds were not made (by them) and the trash pilled up in the trash cans. There were hairs on the walls of the shower that I had to remove. Also, the umbrella in the small patio was broken and unusable, the drapes in the bedroom areas were too small for the windows; they did not block out the light in the morning. Overall, the property is outdated. On a positive note, the exterior of the main hotel is beautiful and the location is close to the beach and the train station.

This could be an awesome hotel with some updating. As it is, okay as a place to stay if you're passing through - a bit shabby, but cool, close to the beach.

Not much of a choice. Had to wait for hot coffee employees were very pleasant had to wait two hours to get the room cleaned got there at 3:00 couldn’t get in to the room until two hours later Parking situation was bad

Great Place - will plan to stay longer next time!

  • Engine customer Aug 2026

The room had a strong, unpleasant odor, as if something very old or musty had been left there for a long time. The furniture was extremely old and worn, making the room feel neglected. The towels were also of very poor quality-thin, rough, and clearly overdue for replacement. Overall, the room felt outdated and poorly maintained. I would not stay here again.

Great location. Old property, but charming.

  • Engine customer Aug 2026

Breakfast good. Location excellent What I didn't like: Delayed check-in (over 3 hours), poor customer service at the front desk, and being assigned a room without air conditioning on the first night.

    Good

Room was a little run down, no AC. The room wasn’t clean and ready for our check in at 3pm. The desk staff didn’t seem to know their job very well. For the price, I expected a higher quality experience
