Blue Sands Inn, A Kirkwood Collection Hotel

Visited here with my family for July 4th vacation and to say that we were disappointed is to say nothing. First the room was not the same as it was shown in photos. Second bathroom was smelling awfully, I couldn’t even enter there and every time that I had to, I was keeping closed my nose so I can enter there. The doors were dirty, the beds smelled awfully, we were sleeping with clothes. I was with my little baby and we drove to Santa Barbara for 6 hours to see this picture. We just run from that motel (it’s written hotel but it’s the worse motel) earlier than we supposed to do. The front desk was not working properly. When we decided to check out early the front desk was not even working and we couldn’t say all this to them, we just dropped the keys in the drop box. Anyway it was the worst vacation that we could imagine.

The property is at a great location with ocean views, a very short walk to the beach and a short drive to food destinations.

Clean, comfortable, great location! Nestled between much more expensive hotels provides a great location without the luxury amenities or price! Perfect!! Within walking distance or a short bus or uber ride from major attractions/activities and literally across the street from the beach!

The bathroom was stinking, like sewer smell coming from the sink or somewhere in the pot not sure, even though the bathroom was clean. I couldn't be in the bathroom for more than 2 mins

It was close to beach restaurants quite and very cozy would be staying agin soon

Super cute little motel/hotel. Clean, comfy beds, lots of room amenities. The staff is excellent and very helpful. Will stay here again!! Free parking!

Updated rooms. Bathroom was okay. Room was next to maids closet so heard everything outside. Room stated ocean view but was not the ocean view I expected. More a side view and ocean from a far. Fire place was not working. Customer service was great and they apologized and made it correct. More 3 star hotel feel.

Such a cute spot right by the beach! The staff was so nice and went above and beyond to help putting batteries in my son’s toy car. We will definitely be back.

I don't usually fill out surveys, but this property and the staff is extemely deserving of a great review! I stayed here years ago and the staff and property was over-the-top. Blue Sands has only gotten better with age.

Tea bags. No coffee in lobby at 8am that morning.

Room was just ok, pictures do it more justice. Felt like a motel that was had a bandaid on it.Linens were meh, super thin sheet & limited pillows for a king bed. Difficult check in progress & staff wasn’t even at the desk for over 45 minutes & no one answered the phone.

Clean room and super convenient location. The staff are quite friendly as well.

I’ve stayed here a few times as well as the Hilton across the way and I much prefer how free I feel at this property - kind of like an apartment experience. I had room 5 this time and loved it.

Lovely place, but the intersection is busy and can be a bit noisy at night.
