Drift Santa Barbara, a Member of Design Hotels

Super cool room. Has everything you need, but definitely on the smaller side. Great if you’re spending most of the time exploring the area, and if you just want a cool spot to lay your head. Coffee shop was great, and the bar is also very aesthetic. Right in the middle of the attention/nightlife, makes it easy to stumble home. I’d come back for sure. Mainly a spot for you and your significant other.

AC was broken 😕. Staff was kind and offered a refund but needed I needed a place to stay

The rooms are smaller but perfect for a couples getaway the location on state st is right in the middle of all the action and you can walk to just about everything will definitely be recommending to all my couples friends for a great romantic getaway!

The staff was very friendly. They were responsive when we had a question or needed any additional services. They very very helpful and truly liked working there. The room was very dark. There wasn't sufficient light to be able to shave or put on make-up. It could easily be rectified with lights around the mirror or a mirror in the bathroom area. Also, the music from the bars were loud and it was hard to fall asleep.

The property was super modern — sadly the AC was not working properly so I got offer some discount. It works because I only stay for a day but my friends had two nights of that. Not fun in the summer. But we spent most of our day out, and used bicycle from the hotel which was fun. Location is excellent. And a nice bar on site. Will return if the AC is fixed. Since it’s a boutique hotel — no other amenities offered.

The location of the Drift was fantastic and it was a darling place to stay.

Location was great

So we had a problem with the AC, which was impacting a good number of rooms in the hotel, so we decided to switch, and I cannot say an upgrade things about how that was handled on our behalf by the great staff at The Drift.

Well kept and super friendly staff

Hotel was nice but the room was a little bit small. All around the stay was nice.

The location is fabulous and very close to stores, the harbor and much more. We loved the decor and atmosphere. The area around the Drift felt safe. Most communication was with the Staff is via text and they responded very quickly. Bikes were available for free. The Staff was very nice and helpful. I didn't love that you had to text a request for room service 24 hours in advance but the process was easy. The room was called the "Cozy Room" which it was extremely cozy. Not a lot of space for large suitcases and the bathroom sink is in the main room.

Staff was fantastic and the hotel and rooms were really cleaned. We had a wonderful time there. Thank you!

My daughter and I loved this choice for a hotel. We didn’t know anything about it but the price fit what we were looking for in the area we were hoping for. The reviews we read are all accurate to our experience. It was the ideal location and the room we had was quiet. The space was small but super functional and fit two of us perfectly. The cafe downstairs is a delight and you get a free coffee daily. We will definitely be back and we’re so sad to leave!

Lovely design, modern and although the space was small, they did a really good job with design features that maximize the space for storage and places to put belongings. Great location if you want to be in the heart of State Street. Didn’t love that there is no valet or Bell service for the price, however, the overnight parking in the public lot directly adjacent to the hotel ended up being some of the least expensive parking I’ve paid at a hotel. If you’re looking for absolute peace and serenity, this may not be the spot as there is pretty active nightlife right below the hotel so things really won’t quiet down until about 2 AM.

Small small rooms. Hard for Lyft drivers to navigate to the check in entrance. It’s in the back. When I arrived there was no attendant available and we waiting a long time for the room to be ready. Dust on the wooden declarations.

The rooms have little natural light and I was disappointed with the small things ie. no supplies of cotton pads etc. and the policy of rooms not being cleaned unless requested on WhatsApp. This should be a given in a hotel. We were booked to stay 2 nights but found ourselves leaving and checking in to an alternative hotel for the 2nd night, the receptionist was not sympathetic to this matter. I would also add don’t rely on using the bikes which were ‘complementary’, I am guessing there is 2 allocated to the hotel as they were never available.
