Hideaway Santa Barbara, A Kirkwood Collection Property

I honestly cannot give enough credit to this place, the staff, the management and everything in between. Meghan who first helped us out from start to finish was THE BEST. The most amazing and beautiful personality and smile. She made us feel so welcomed and appreciated as soon as we got there. She was above and beyond in excellence as she checked us in. Carmelita was so kind and hospitable and offered her help and services as we stayed there. There were more staff that helped me and my mother stay at the most beautiful place. The pictures don’t give it enough credit. We recommended our family and friends to stay at the hideaway next time they visit Santa Barbara. It was our first time there for my sister’s wedding and we felt like it was our second home. It truly is a nice a cozy stay by the beach with lots of other people that you can mingle and get to know, or not! There were more areas with larger families that could stay in one room that we would stay at next time. Trust me you will not regret. Thank you SO MUCH Hideaway!

Gwen is a lovely person who prepares a great breakfast. She cooked delicious omelets, and also provided a large buffet of fresh fruit. We’ll stay there again!

Wonderful time at the Hideaway! Monique was the front and main staff member. She’s so amazing and helpful. My boys LOVED her ! Place is beautifully decorated. The pictures from past reviewers are accurate. We stayed in the largest room and the rugs are a little worn, but we can overlook that because of how everything else was so charming. Definitely coming back again in the future. This place gave my kids a wonderful experience and memory they’ll never forget!

The staff was amazing

Room was up 3 flights of stairs. We’d booked a king and single bed. No single bed made so we had to ask for sheets then expected to make our own bed. Sheets were all dirty, pillows were wet. Main bed was covered in black marks, yellow stains and dirty sheets. No staff on site left and so we called the sister hotel number who were very unhelpful and hung up on us. Hotel is run down, We did not stay and left to check in elsewhere which cost us more but we could not stay. Awful experience.

We had an amazing stay at the Hideaway in Santa Barbara. The moment I walked in, I felt completely immersed in the perfect hideaway from the hub of downtown Santa Barbara. The room was a perfect escape with such delicate touches to each corner of space. It’s too bad. It was too hot outside, I would’ve loved to have enjoyed a fire in the fireplace. The staff was so lovely and almost made you feel like they were welcoming into their home. We were greeted with a glass of wine and freshly baked cookies, and in the morning we were served the customize farm fresh omelette of our choice with the freshest vegetables and the sweetest hospitality! I love the common spaces that were filled with so much light and air-conditioning. We were within walking distance from downtown Santa Barbara, the train station, the Funk zone, and the beach. I would 100% 10 out of 10 stay here again and recommend and create another reminder if I have time. This place is the perfect Hideaway for your next retreat!

Unfortunately, I was pretty disappointed in my stay at Hideaway. The hotel’s ambiance was comforting and the room had okay amenities. However that didn’t excuse the ant infestation we were not told about. Overnight the ants had crawled into our luggage and had spread throughout the room. The ants entered our room through a crack in the A/C unit. When we reported the issue to the front desk, they were already aware of the situation. They acknowledged that this was a persistent and reoccurring issue, and that they would “fix it” in the future. Considering the price at this hotel, I’d expect a higher standard when it comes to room cleanliness and honesty with customers. Their lack of communication regarding the infestation and no follow-up to the issue, would not make me recommend this hotel to anyone.

The service was terrible and unreliable. The parking was a nightmare. When we went to the room the sheets were stained and few room was not clean including used contact lenses on the surfaces.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel was beautiful both in the main building and our room.

Great staff. Check-in and check-out were very efficient. It was extremely noisy. The room had very poor sound insulation, and in the morning it felt like I was sleeping in the middle of a busy street. Breakfast was included, which was appreciated, but the selection lacked healthier options. The offerings were primarily white toast, potatoes, and eggs, with limited choices for guests looking for a healthier breakfast.

What a charming hotel. Beautiful and the staff are incredible. Friendly, helpful and welcoming. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Location is very close to walk to many interesting locations if you’re up for walking. I can’t sit to visit again. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality

The hotel is very cute, small but comfortable and very reasonably priced. The best cook to order breakfast that I had. The chef is so unique and her kitchen is like a kitchen in the movies. We will certainly be back and recommend to family and friends to stay.

Everything was very nice, the made to order breakfast was fantastic,the chef was amazing,and the items that were available to go along with breakfast were very good and very fresh. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would definitely come back again.

We enjoyed our stay so much! Our room was very clean and comfortable. The staff were helpful, friendly and a joy to visit with. The breakfast was made to order and was delicious!! There are many choices and the eye for detail was great! We will definitely be back!!
