Such a beautiful and peaceful property! So clean and maintained. Staff was amazing! The wine at 5, cookies and milk at night and the pastries and coffee in the morning were so yummy. Can’t wait to go back.

I checked in and was told that I had already checked in. After 20 minutes of back and forth, they had no idea who they allowed in my room instead of me. Luckily, They had just one more room available, which I took. The room was not well maintained or clean. NOT ENOUGH PARKING spaces. They made big promises and did not deliver. I wonder if that was racially motivated or something else - BUT AVOID AT ALL COST.

Very charming hotel in excellent location.

The hotel was in the perfect spot in Santa Barbara. Lots of things were within walking distance. We were in a cottage, and it was the most amazing set up. The ease of a hotel but with the feel of an AirBB. It was truly a great stay.

Small quaint with a ton of history. We loved it!

Exceptional

The only slight difficulties are the parking... basically you need to arrive by 5 or so to get a spot, then walk to dinner nearby. The continental breakfast is limited to coffee and pastries; some protein and fruit would have been a good addition. Overall, a favorite place to stay in Santa Barbara.

It’s quiet and very relaxing

Staff were very friendly. The room was clean with bath sheet size towels and robes provided. Loved the extras like evening wine and morning pastries. Will definitely come back!

The hotel is nice and charming, but the room had a very strong old musty smell. It was very overwhelming to the point I wanted to cancel and book another hotel but it was a busy weekend and almost all hotels were sold out or crazy $$$. They put an air purifier in the room. It helped and was acceptable, but I would not be staying here again.

Perfect location

I stayed in a room in the building (Lincoln?) directly behind the main reception building and restaurant. The room was spacious with a comfortable bed. It did have a musty smell, so I requested a room fan (provided). I alerted staff the next day that my air conditioner wasn't working properly, so hopefully that was addressed. Fortunately, my windows could be opened, and it was cool enough to not be a problem. My room was on the ground floor directly behind the kitchen and seating area for the restaurant. As such, it was a bit smelly back there, and there was noise from the restaurant and kitchen from late afternoon until later in the evening. This wasn't too bad, but just be aware. It definitely was quiet enough during the night, as I did sleep well once the restaurant wound down operations for the night. There is a light continental breakfast provided, as well as wine in the evening. There is limited parking behind the property, so it's advisable to park and never use your car if possible. I can recommend this property as a reasonable place to stay in Santa Barbara.

The room was nice very close to where we wanted to be. The staff are very nice with a wine and cheese reception just before we left to grab dinner.

Exceptional

Classic hotel with character - high ceilings and comfy furniture. Free off-street parking if you're not too late. Breakfast was not much so you may want to go elsewhere for your morning joe.

Beautiful hotel with spacious rooms and a great garden to look at. The setting is very appealing. Note that some room might feel musty, as there is no extraction fan in the bathroom (room 17), also the parking is first come first serve and there are not enough spaces available for all the guests. We were not bothered since parking on the street is free. The location is great! We will come back for sure
