Best Western Plus All Suites Inn

My stay at this Best Western was an absolute disappointment from start to finish. The room was poorly maintained, with numerous chips, scratches, and signs of neglect. The bathroom was unacceptable, with significant staining around the tub, and the shower had either a clogged showerhead or terrible water pressure. The towels smelled strongly of chlorine, the refrigerator was dirty, and I even found food left in a cupboard by a previous guest—clear evidence that rooms are not thoroughly cleaned between guests. Before leaving for the day, I notified the front desk before 9AM that I would be out, yet when I returned around 8PM my room had not been serviced. I was simply told there was no housekeeping staff available to clean it. The complimentary breakfast was among the worst I have experienced; virtually everything was poor quality except the waffles, which were acceptable. The coffee was terrible, and the coffee station was dirty and poorly maintained. The staff were generally cold, indifferent, and minimally present. My room was also located near the ice machine, resulting in constant noise, and the room above had children running around well past 11:00 PM. I reported the disturbance to the front desk, but nothing was done. Between the poor cleanliness, lack of housekeeping, deferred maintenance, excessive noise, and indifferent customer service, this was one of the worst hotel experiences I have had. I would not stay at this Best Western again and cannot recommend it.

Expensive for an older hotel but overall i did enjoy our stay! Staff was amazing and helpful!

The sheets were very clean but the mattress was not supportive. All this would be acceptable if it was $75/ night. The room was a little over $300/ night.

I liked how everything was close. Housekeeping can be improved. I found old cookies and my sister n law had old fries in her closet.

Overall it was a decent place to spend the night close to Santa Cruz Boardwalk. The suite was roomy, but the layout was not great. The sinks are in the room and very inconvenient to use when the rest of family still sleeps. The bathroom is tiny and the shower poorly designed, no tub. When I got in the shower late evening, I discovered there was no soap and shampoo in the tubes. Had to send my wife to front desk to request one. Breakfast was useless - poor selection and cheap ingredients, even the coffee was disgusting. Paid parking and you have to sign a bunch of liability waiver forms for the hotel not being responsible for belongings inside. If it’s not safe, add a gate! It adds a lot of unwanted anxiety to visitors.

This was a great location. The staff was very freindly. The room was a great size, did not expect it too be. Breakfast was good. Having parking is a plus in Santa Cruz.

The hot tub was not what I expected. Very small. Area surround by concrete walls. Breakfast was good. Rooms were clean but do need some updating

From parking to front desk to a super clean room and then a nice breakfast. It was all great. Thank you Best Western for accommodating our family as well as our dog. Kudos!

False advertisement about having a pool, there’s only a hot tub which was nice could have been clean. Ice machine is out of order on the floor my room was on that’s an inconvenience! The ac unit was old and not blowing enough air out! It was spacious and nice in the room!!

Breakfast selections were adequate.

I’m wanted my room clean my entire stay and told the staff upfront, they never cleaned it. My remote control didn’t work, I didn’t bother to tell them though, Parking you 16 dollars per night, they didn’t mention in beginning so no choice but to pay, otherwise its decent place. I was haunted at night :/ be ware.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and spacious although we were given an ADA room so I can't compare to the regular rooms. Breakfast was buffet and had as assortment of breakfast items. The location was about a 15 minute walk to downtown.

The bed wooden box scratched my leg when walking pass it to bed which was placed too closed to the wall. The whole room was not decent at all. However, the front desk staff at the night switch was very friendly and helpful providing toothpaste to me that I forgot to bring.

The complimentary breakfast was equally disappointing. There was no coffee available, the food was greasy and of poor quality, and when we politely asked for coffee, the employee serving breakfast seemed irritated and responded with a bad attitude. Good customer service goes a long way, and unfortunately, that was lacking during our stay. For the amount we paid, I expected much better accommodations and service. I've stayed at other hotels that charged less and provided cleaner rooms, better breakfast options, and friendlier staff. Overall, this stay did not meet basic expectations, and I would not choose this hotel again.

We were in Santa Cruz for UCSC graduation. This hotel was conveniently located, and we enjoyed having the gym. Our room was spacious. It was ridiculously expensive for what it was - maybe because of graduation?
