Front desk mam was rude to me when I had trouble getting the coffee pot to work. There was nowhere to park when we arrived.

My partner and I had an excellent 1 night stay at The Islander. The room was updated recently, clean, and comfortable. You get 1 car parking spot per room in their lot. About 15 minutes walking and 5 minutes driving from the Boardwalk. The owners were communicative and friendly. We didn't have time to use the pool, but it looked cute and had privacy fencing around it. It was affordable and I would stay here again!

My biggest issue was the cleanliness of the floors in the room. I traveled with 2 kids and their feet would be so dirty at the end of the day. I would wipe their feet and

The staff was very courteous when I called over the phone as well as when I showed up to the front desk in person. The room was nice and clean and the facilities overall seemed to be very well-maintained. It was nice and quiet, easy to find and there was parking available.

Friendly staff, clean room, great amenities like HBO and a huge walk-in shower with adjustable showerhead.

Inexpensive place close to many santa cruz attractions

Very clean and comfortable room. Check in was easy and everyone was very helpful.

Front desk put wrong date in and tried to get my son to forgo his reservation. She then said she would allow him to check in but grilled him on who he would have over. The room looked fine. All beverage machine were out of order.

When we arrived, we were a bit scared. The place is older and looks a bit sketchy. Check in time is at 3pm, we arrived around 2pm. So we gave it a shot, to see if we could check in a bit earlier. Rose helped me, super nice lady very friendly and got me all checked in. We got into the room, and to our surprise it was nice and updated and very clean. They even provided body soap/shampoo, and lotion. We definitely judged the book by its cover. Parking is a bit tight, I’d suggest smaller cars and SUV.

It is only a few blocks from the boardwalk, many amenities close by. Has nice pool. Everything was nice and clean

My 14yo and I were looking for a cost effective two night stay to experience Santa Cruz and found the Islander. The rooms were clean, and updated. We felt safe and secure. The heated pool (not too warm or too cold) along with the new Loungers were great. We will be staying here again when we come back.

No frills motel that was clean with all the basics needed for quick night stay. Parking was really tight. Desk staff was pleasant.

The room was very clean..

Mediocre experience at best

Our room was cozy but had everything we needed. It was clean, had a properly functioning mini fridge and a microwave. Relatively close to downtown and the boardwalk if you don’t mind walking 25ish minutes. The parking lot was on the smaller side, so a midsize or smaller vehicle would be ideal. Larger vehicles would be better suited for street parking.
