Not clean! The room was pretty cross, dingy and dirty, and we even found and had to kill a cockroach. See attached photos. I’m currently washing every item of clothing we had on the trip. The location was great but everything else was awful. The room was on the street and you could hear everything, there was plaster on the walls peeling paint, I could go on and on. And no phone in the room just a piece of laminated paper with who to call or text on your own phone. We will NEVER stay there again.

Room was not clean. Bathroom smelled like mold and the tv did not work.

This renovated property is across the street from the beach and a block from the Santa Cruz pier. It is blocks from the train that takes you to the redwoods. It couldn’t be any better of a location. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Highly recommend for a visit.

Don’t expect anything beyond great location. It states breakfast is included on hotels.com, but that is not included. Lots of stairs, so if needing accommodations contact them beforehand. The walls are paper thin, so we tried to be as mindful and considerate as possible. We loved our stay but based on other reviews our expectations were that of a bare bones Airbnb and not a hotel, and that was pretty spot on. If you set your expectations low, you will love your stay here.

Nice place but need some maintenance.

Location was premier, outdoor terrace was nice, the staff was very kind and the property looks very nice.

Our rooms floor was coming up from leaking toilet so had to put towels on floor .The faucet on sink was attached . When you showered It leaked had mold in it, then light turned off on there own every 2 min so in the shower you had to keep getting out to turn back on. Other than that the distance to beach was great

Great beach view! I’d stay there again

The room was very clean considering it’s right across from the street. Clean bedding and towels. The staff was soooo helpful and sweet when it came to accommodating my mother who is handicapped. There are a lot of steps but my mom was able to get around okay. Our room had a shared balcony and was right across the street from the beach volleyball. It wasn’t that loud at night considering it’s across the street from the boardwalk. It’s also really close to the wharf and restaurants. Fire Fish was so yummy! We had a great time and will be back next summer!!!

The location was perfect for our beach vacation. We were steps from the ocean, the pier and boardwalk, and pretty much anything else we needed. When we needed to get out of the sun for a bit, there was plenty of people and beach volleyball watching from the balcony.

A+ nice location and great view
-
Staff were friendly. Location is amazing. Rooms are tighter, and bathroom set up is a bit funky. Might have been my room specifically.

Great view, easy access to beach, parking was included, and 20 years to beach or wharf. Only thing, I left my yeti container on table, on balcony to get ready for dinner. Someone took it, from my balcony that we shared. Didn't think a hotel like this, I would have to protect it as I got dressed.

The doors are short and combined with the uneven floors led to some head bumps. Some doors were hard to unlock. The life machine is across the parking lot. No special amenities to speak of.

Excellent location and great roomy ocean front rooms. Super cute, slightly dated but clean. Dog friendly. The parking lot fit my lifted 250 truck, which is hard to find in Santa Cruz. It did fill up at night. I love that the room had a microwave and fridge. This is hard to find nowadays and saves money when traveling. I would totally stay there again.

Love the location.

The room was definitely clean smelled a lot like cleaner. There is a lot of steps to get the room. We were luckily able to get the last parking spot. I was a little sadden to see that the conditioner was out and the shower door was missing the knob to open it from the inside. I did enjoy seeing all the pets at the hotel.
