Great location for exploring the boardwalk

Older place, very clean and in a very nice location. Got a free upgraded room and it was way nicer than I was expecting. Room 105 had a private patio overlooking the volleyball courts next to the ocean and pier. Had a small kitchen and fireplace with a brass tub in front of it. King size bed, really nice shower. I’d definitely stay here again. The staff here was very nice.

Room was very small and did not have a dresser or drawers to put clothes in. Room 203 is on the corner, which has 5 sides and had only 4 inches between the bed and air conditioner. We were informed via text near midnight that our reservations was double-booked, and to contact the manager in the morning. The manager charged us an additional $100 for the first night.

10/10 would recommend and stay here again. Great location just steps from the main beach. Less than a 5 minute walk to the pier and the boardwalk. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. View from the room was amazing and the deck with tables and lounge chairs made it feel like a luxury vacation for a decent price

Great hotel, older but clean & a great view of the beach. The staff was excellent! So helpful & great.

Beautiful property- however air did not work until looked at and the bathroom was very heavy chlorinated smell.

This property is an amazing property right on the ocean across the street from Santa Cruz pier. Staff is unbelievably welcoming and friendly. Cleanliness is fantastic. Comfort was very good. They have a nice deck that is for everyone to use and it looked overlooks the ocean, which is really a beautiful view. I felt it was a pricey, but I’m not used to the California price tag. I think that’s why.

Location Old furniture

close to beach, clean, staff was friendly. Rather than 3 stars it deserves 2.5. Certainly paying for the location more than the facility. If it was anywhere else it would be half the cost. Felt like a Motel 6 rather than a beachside 3 star hotel. A holiday inn express would have been a better deal up the street.

Our room was clean and spacious! Bathroom was clean and open. The view was clear to the ocean from our balcony. The only thing the place didn’t have was a restaurant or a bar, but we were close to near by places across the street.

The TV remote didn’t work and still didn’t work after they ‘fixed’ it. Long black hairs on the bed, pillow and bathroom floor. Pillows were horrible - stuffing in clumps and they folded them over to the size of throw pillows with tucked in pillowcases to make them fit - replacement pillows provided were exactly the same but one came with another long black hair. Sink had a sewage smell coming from the drain which they tried to address, but it was back the next day.

We liked the room 208 as it accomodated our needs, we travel with two cats. We are partially handicapped, the view was super, everything was great. We were close, within walking distance to dinner spots, Indian food delicious. We could drive on boardwalk to knack. We enjoyed that very much and we drove to aquarium in Monterey one day only an hour away... The floors being wooden and older, no air conditioner and it got a bit warm with gas fireplace being on.

My friend and I stayed here for a night on our roadtrip to San Diego. The staff was very friendly, and when we left a perfume behind they kindly agreed to keep it until we can get back to pick it up! Very thankful for them. The view was beautiful and the boardwalk was fun to past, despite it being night time and closed. The vibe reminded me of Italy, very fun! Definitely get your money’s worth with this place!

The location is wonderful! Very friendly and responsive staff. The bed was very comfortable. The fire pit was a lovely area to enjoy the evening. Barn-style door for the bathroom is a poor choice. The rain shower style shower head has zero water pressure. I felt like I was literally trying to wash my hair in a light rain! Thankfully there was also a handheld shower head that was adjustable and worked well enough to get a good shower. The most inconvenient thing is having the bathroom lights on some kind of timer. The lights turned off on us while in the shower every time. Considering the bathroom had no windows, it made for a quite startling situation!

We had the family room, which is such a great, large, unexpected room to have in a hotel, near the beach. I highly recommend it for groups that don't mind sharing the sleeping space like a sleepover. Conveniently located, cool, quaint property.

My room was very small and had no sitting option but on the bed. The elephant feet above my head woke me each night. It is close to the boardwalk and I enjoyed sitting on the deck.
-
Close to the beach Too many stairs, no ramps!
-
We got a Sun Room with a fantastic view and extra bed. Location is terrific, parking is terrific. Was quiet at night.

Not clean! The room was pretty cross, dingy and dirty, and we even found and had to kill a cockroach. See attached photos. I’m currently washing every item of clothing we had on the trip. The location was great but everything else was awful. The room was on the street and you could hear everything, there was plaster on the walls peeling paint, I could go on and on. And no phone in the room just a piece of laminated paper with who to call or text on your own phone. We will NEVER stay there again.
