Our room was against the sidewalk so we heard a lot of people walking by and street traffic. The room was small and not very spacious, but was clean .

Our room was not ready when we arrived. We arrived 30 minutes early. We went to get some snacks and came back at 3:45, still the room was not ready. They offered to switch us to another room but in the bottom floor. We were tired and accepted the accommodations. The next morning at 6:00 am, garage was being picked up, extremely loud, and the following morning, another garage pick up, but refrigerated trucks delivering food to the high class hotel next door.

Staff complains about everything. Playing low music in my room at 4pm trying to enjoy myself and got a noise complaint. They were rude it felt like way too many rules. Bad experience and way too strict of policies. I do not recommend. Parking was a nightmare also.

Very clean rooms, staff very friendly

The Pros: Location: Unbeatable location—right on the street and a 2-minute walk to the boardwalk. The Room: The remodeled suite was updated and visually nice. The Cons: Cleanliness & Amenities: The bed sheets had an unpleasant odor upon arrival and it was obvious that they were not changed. No beach towels were provided. The in-room coffee machine was old and functioned poorly. There was no iron in the room, and guests are expected to carry an ironing board to their room themselves. Noise & Privacy: The room was directly across from another hotel, offering zero privacy. The street was very noisy late into the night with crowds and cars playing loud music, and the windows lack proper sound insulation. View: The “partial” ocean view advertised was hardly a view, you can hardly see the water at all. Service: Special room requests submitted prior to arrival were ignored. While some staff were fine, a couple of the reception staff members were unwelcoming and unfriendly. Parking: The parking spaces are extremely tight and very difficult to maneuver, particularly for an SUV. While the location and suite renovation are positives, the issues with noise, amenities, and service do not align with the high rates charged.

Very clean. Small for the price but location is everything. It’s just the right amount of loud during the day and surprisingly quiet as soon as the boardwalk closes. Everything we needed we had and the parking was great!

Pros: location to Boardwalk and wharf, helpful staff, bed was comfortable, shower had nice pressure, ocean view room overlooking Beach Street is a great way to people watch. Cons: understaffed cleaning crew as our room wasn’t ready upon check in requiring us to wait until almost 4:30 to check in, only to find stains on pillowcase and a half a roll of toilet paper :( no microwave, no continental breakfast, (there is an adjacent cafe, but it is nothing special), small rooms with a lot of noise from room upstairs which is a let down considering this is a newly constructed hotel, minimal amenities so read fine print. Overall take: Staff was friendly and helpful hotel felt safe and new, but it’s clear that management needs to hire more housekeepers and I caution the owners as not to be too stingy with amenities as there are MANY other hotels in area to choose from.

If you’re looking to be near the beach, this is a great location. I don’t know how long this property has been around but it felt like it was renovated in the past few years. So that’s a plus. The onsite pool is small. While onsite parking is provided, it’s not the best because the only way to get out of the lot is to back out. We had a problems with housekeeping 1) to replace an empty box of Kleenex and 2) to get fresh towels. In both cases after requesting service from the front desk and waiting two days, I ended up getting them myself. In terms of value I would rate Marea Sol as average. Next time we are in Santa Cruz we will stay elsewhere.

Love the place close to santa cruz and the hotel is very nice. Very good for me and I love santa cruz boardwalk. They have 2 parking place under basement and the top ground. Parking charge not bad at all. I think it was $25 ... : )

My stay at the Marea Del Sol was excellent.

Very convenient hotel location for the boardwalk.

The room and view were lovely. The staff was kind. Our biggest complaint is that at check in time, only 1 person was working so there was a line. Then, our room wasn't ready, and other customers were waiting on rooms too. We were comped a night of parking and given a room upgrade when our room still wasn't ready. It was just hard to hear when your family is tired after a day of traveling.

Location and staff are great! The parking is tight especially if you have a non compact car

The room was awesome! Soft pillows and bed. It was so nice. A seating area on the roof. With a great view. We will be staying there again,.
