Fireside Inn Santa Cruz

The hotel property is hilly and may be challenging for someone who is disabled.

The location is spectacular. Wharf, boardwalk and beach all 1-2 blocks. Staff was friendly and so helpful, really outstanding. Rooms were comfy and equipped with microwave and fridge.

Unfortunately, this year's experience was completely different. The man in the office was rude, hostile, and questioned me as if I wasn't a paying guest. To make matters worse, the room was dirty, the floors had clearly not been cleaned, and there was an unpleasant smell. It was very disappointing to see such a decline in both customer service and cleanliness. Sadly, I will not be returning.It doesn’t matter how close it is to boardwalk if the experience isn’t pleasant

Close to the boardwalk. Use Groupon for tickets to unlimited rides and attractions. The rooms are nice and clean. I suggest a better shower head/pressure.

The room we got was definitely good for the price! The boardwalk was a 5-minute walk away! Parking at this location is a little tight but the staff member that was there when we got there showed us where to park (we had to parallel park into the space he wanted us to park in) but everything else about the property was great!

No amenities. But very convenient and close to the beach:boardwalk. The hill on this property is a lot.. either the hill or the straits is the option lol. But overall I’d stay here again..

I would say the property is clean, bed are comfortable and Sam at the reception was very kind, friendly and accomodating

Sooo close to the Boardwalk! Convenient, basic, good price. Absolutely no frills but I would book again.

Room was filthy cockroaches in the bathroom.When asked if I could move to a different room , they denied me even though they had ones that were still available , highly do not recommend

Beds need to be updated, can feel the coils when sleeping. The bottom metal frame on the bed keeps getting kick.

It's an old building that needs some repairs, but the location is fantastic. If you have equilibrium issues, do not get a room upstairs. The railings are not up to safety code. They are about 3 feet tall, way below hip line. Dangerous.
