Super cute, clean room and really affordable. I’ll definitely stay here again.

I really enjoyed the Sandman. The room was very comfortable with extra space to sit and relax. The pool and hot tub were great! The property is well taken care of and updated. I recently stayed at a sister property in Anderson, CA so I knew the Sandman would also be on par. The breakfast was a nice bonus as well. I will definitely book Ascend Collection properties for future travels.

This is one of those older hotels that want to be a boutique so they renovate but without keeping it up, what’s the point? Door knobs were loose/didn’t latch well. Not what I was expecting given the pictures and ratings.

It was a bit odd to have to pay for parking at a Motel.
-
Also virtually no seating for eating. Pool furniture. No tables.

This hotel is fine, with some nicely upgraded aesthetics but in the end it’s really just a slightly upgraded motel. The pool area is nice, though they are constantly out of towels and don’t seem to clean the area frequently enough (dirty towels a trash left for several hours). However my biggest issue was the staff. When I was checking out, I let the staff know at the front desk that there had been some ants in my room. It was not a major problem, just one or two here and there, but they kept coming and by the last morning they were in the sugar packet for the coffee pot. I did not ask for a refund or a discount or anything. I simply said I wanted to let them know about the issue. The first person responded with “Oh” and then stared at me blankly. The woman sitting next to her asked me to explain again as she did not hear so I repeated myself and again said I just wanted to let them know that there were some ants in the room. She then told me that we are in an area that has ants in the environment, and they can’t do anything about thay. Then she said I must have left the door open frequently and that’s how they got in. she then asked why I didn’t call housekeeping to take care of it during my stay. By this point, I didn’t care anymore so I left, but not once did they indicate they would look into it or apologize for anything. Customer service is not part of the training apparently. I would not stay here again.

I loved staying here. The room's are lovely and have tons of amenities. The pool and pool bar are a little inconvenient location-wise. The bathroom attached to the room is small in a sort of weird way? But oh I loved staying here! We'll be staying again in September! The staff is helpful and so nice! There are not elevators that I could see, so be careful if you need accommodations for disability. Great hotel, 10/10 would recommend.

Clean room. Good breakfast selection. Polite staff

Great stay ! Breakfast had good options and on top of that clean room and great service!

This is an amazingly quiet hotel and a very nice staff. Room was very clean and loved the pool. Would highly recommend to consider this for your stay.

That said, I did want to flag a couple of maintenance issues: the hot water faucet knob came off in my hand, and the shower had no soap or shampoo stocked. Small things, but worth mentioning since upkeep seems to be slipping a bit compared to past years. We'd still love to return next summer, hopefully with these little details sorted out.

Photos are deceiving. This is a motel. Rooms smell like cigarettes and wet carpet.
-
Excellent was the overall ratings for our stay in this place… will definitely come back on our next visit.
-
Check in was fast and smooth. It is refurbished. Like the kitchenette and free daily breakfast. Very accessible to the freeway and stores. 4 min walk to trader Joe's.

Breakfast was plenty. And to take it by the pool was very nice. Rooms were clean and property felt like a vacation resort!

Admittedly, I am on a fairly tight budget, but for what I paid per night for this place, I am usually able to find nicer accommodations for weekend outings with my family. Everything was just a little bit funky. The pool area and “pool house” seemed newer and nicer, but it doubled as the breakfast spot and there weren’t nearly enough tables for the number of folks coming down to eat. Most of us found ourselves trying to balance our plates in our laps on a pool recliner ls which was less than optimal. Despite that, the staff did accommodate a request to check in to one of our two rooms a tad early so we could prepare for a celebration that was starting very close to the original check in time. And the woman who helped us at checkout was very friendly.

The rooms were clean and the breakfast was good. Staff was helpful- We were surprised to see what looked like long-term guests repairing cars in the parking lot, a lot of smoking right outside the rooms despite it being prohibited, and the Friday night pool party was loud and late.

The room with the kitchenette was great. It was very convenient to have. Breakfast was great and so was the pool. The manager was great he was incredibly helpful.
