The room was quiet and comfortable, but this didn’t make up for the lack of services and support from staff. Definitely not worth the expense and hassle!

One elevator broken. AC is struggling. We were sweating all night. Only parking is valley type.

The hotel is located in an excellent spot in walking distance to shopping, Pikes Market and the monorail. There's no microwave in the room, so if you have kids and need to warm up food, it's an extra charge to have put in your room. The second elevator is not working and apparently it has been down for some time, about a year. Although, the hotel is not a resort or offered anything special, guests are charged $20 per night. The front desk couldn't really explain why this exorbitant fee was added to the bill.

He hotel is older. Had 2 queens and 2 bathrooms. I didn’t ask for 2 bathrooms but nice to have. Elevator - one was broken. Staff stated that parts were hard to get a hold of since building was old. Walking to market place was easy

Bathrooms were clean. The bed was extremely comfortable. The furniture in the suite could use some cleaning on

Beautiful vintage building, comfortable beds, convenient location to light rail and Pike Place Market.

Also, the Andalusian Restaurant that the hotel runs was closed "for the season." We were there in July. I wonder when the season runs?

Location was amazing, we walked everywhere, monorail to Space Needle was around the corner. But furniture is quite outdated, we had hair in bathtub and dast on furniture, obviously noone stayed at that room for weeks and it wasn't refreshed. Also had lotion, shampoo and conditioner but not shower gel (little bar soap instead) which was not really convenient for us. The reception and valley park assistants were excellent

    Great place!

Great place to stay before getting in a cruise leaving out of Seattle. Walking distance to the market, even feasible to the needle point too

The hotel is beautiful, and the suite that we had was awesome. I really liked the rooms setup, with two full baths that made the stay of three people very comfortable. My complaints are just that (again, out of the staff;s control) the hotel has only two elevators, and one was out of order the three nights that we stayed. Now that seems small, but the remaining elevator only holds 6 people comfortably, less if they have luggage, and the hotel is very busy, so getting up and down took a lot of time and required patience. So, with the elevator down and patience needed, I wanted a drink, and on one of the days, the bar/restaurant was closed all day due to technical problems. Now, if I was management, I would have at least allowed cash and beer sales. These are just my opinions and and when I got the entire bill for three nights ($1,700) they were confirmed. A nice place, but maybe not worth the price when I could have stayed elsewhere for a better stay for less.

    * One of the two elevators for this enormous hotel was broken the entire stay. We had to compete with hundreds of guests AS WELL AS hotel staff for the elevators which honestly took more than 30 minutes each time. We resorted to stairs even though we were on the fifth floor, even with our heavy luggage, just unacceptable. No apology, no proactive outreach. Poor. * The deal we had included a free drink at the hotel bar which was in our confirmation and confirmed by the front desk - when we mentioned it to the bartender he looked at us like we were crazy, we explained and never got our free drinks. * We asked for early check in, declined. And then to align with our travel asked for a late check out. Also declined. Given all the problems over the week, you'd have thought they'd be flexible. They weren't. This is the sort of thing I remember and talk about. * When I checked out I asked for a folio to submit to my employer. The counter clerk said that because it was a zero balance, there was no folio. A week later, I got an updated folio for $80 plus tax for the additional variable resort fee. That was exactly what I was originally looking for. Now I have to resubmit my expenses. All in all, not impressed with service.

Great hotel with great staff and location.

Great staff, loved the room. No complaints.

  • Engine customer Jul 2026

Very little staff around to ask for any help, definitely seemed short staffed. Not very pleased with these 2 concerns.

Great staff. Great location. Rooms and bathrooms are small but that is to be expected at a historic hotel. Comfortable bed and bedding.

This is a lovely looking property with an unhelpful staff. I asked for an early check in and had no communication back from the hotel. Our check in was delayed b/c our room wasn’t ready(they had already charged my card) and our non- smoking room smelled like cigarettes. The staff didn’t even apologize.

Very large bedroom but small bathroom with tub shower. Plugs are in baseboards for most part and inconvenient. A couple of usb ports in clock. One of two elevators broken so very slow to get one as they aren’t big and often full when it arrived. We arrived early and there seemed to be no effort to get a room available until after 4 pm. Food in dining room very good for breakfast and dinner. Wait staff very good. Suggest the reception staff dress more appropriately for elegant hotel. Jacket and slacks.

Nice hotl in excellent location. A little tired. Decor very dated, Only one lift operating during our stay. When a cruiuse ship is coming in or going out long queues at recetion and for the only working lift. You wouldnt want to wal up 10 floors

The biggest issue was that this 12-story hotel only had one working elevator for our entire stay. One of the hotel's two elevators was out of service, and there is no separate service elevator, so guests and staff all had to share the same one. We were on the 7th floor, and there was always a line waiting for the elevator. We ended up taking the stairs several times because it was faster. When we asked if it would be repaired, staff told us they were having trouble locating the replacement part, making it seem like the elevator had been out of service for quite some time. Despite this, the hotel never disclosed the issue before our arrival and declined to offer any discount or acknowledgement of the inconvenience. The room also felt very dated, like it hadn't been updated since the mid-1990s, and the bed wasn't very comfortable. At this price point, there are plenty of other nice hotels in the area. We chose this one for its walkable location to Pike Place Market, but that convenience was completely offset by the elevator situation. Unfortunately, because of the dated rooms, uncomfortable bed, and poor hotel management, I wouldn't stay here again or recommend it.
