Irish Lodge South Bend

Hotel was under renovation but thats understandable. Pool was out of service and that fact was not revealed anywhere. Staff were not ensuring breakfast items were replenished.

The staff was very helpful when I forgot an expensive personal item in the room. They packed it and sent it promptly which I very much appreciated.

The elevator on the even side is broken. The doors on the backside would not open had to walk around in the dark to get an open door. You need more handicap spaces.

The personnel were very nice, pleasant and helpful. The property was overall a pretty good place to stay!

The room smelled of smoke and the bathtub was peeling paint from the sides. When I took a bath the paint pieces were floating in the water.

Breakfast had waffles, cereal, bread, muffins and bagels. Overall, I’d stay again for the pricing and overall location.

It was good for the price. We did not like the breakfast and it was a little noisy.

Rooms and hallways really need renovation/updating. Lobby looks great.

Check in was easy and front desk attendants were great. Our room was a little smelly, and the bathroom was not clean. We had an early check out and less than a 24 hour stay, so we did not report anything to staff.

Understaffed!!!! 1 man ran ragged Sunday & Monday July 12th and 13th...checking people out, trying to keep breakfast stocked, he was SO BUSY THE FRONT DESK WAS LEFT UNATTENDED! Needed a PLUNGER!!! WAS TOLD OUR ROOM 109 ALWAYS HAS THAT PROBLEM!!!! Took 15 minutes for someone to find us a plunger. Told we had to fix ourself...no staff available. Jose...to friendly/casual...assumed I was Italian because another lady was just asking for garbage liners for room and she was Italian! Why? He was so casual he swore at times while talking to us.

Walking into the lobby to check in was 3 people listening to music so loud I couldn't hear the lady checking us in. There was a " criminal " element to the thugs that we're hanging out in the lobby that was a bit uncomfortable. We'll never stay there again..

Gym worked

The beds were comfy and the shower was hot. The pool has continued to be closed for many months which was disappointing. Breakfast was 90% carbs and no scrambled eggs or breakfast meats. Our room had black mold on the wall and the bathroom door would not stay closed. Would not stay here again!

Room smelled like smoke - there was a plastic bag covering the smoke detector - clearly someone was smoking prior and the housekeeping didn't notice it - Hotel under construction and dirty - pool closed without prior notice. Will not stay there again. Money not well spent

It was a good stay. Pretty clean, good location. Beds are not comfortable but it was doable for a one night stay.
