Margaritaville Resort Lake Tahoe

This hotel has a great look. Bright and cheery. The four glass elevators ensure you never have to wait more than a few seconds for an elevator even during busy times. Our room was clean. The beds were comfy. (The only negative was the shower as it had insufficient pressure.) The location was impeccable...BEST in South Lake Tahoe. Walk out the door and take a few steps (literally) to the east, you leave California and step into Stateline, Nevada and Harrah's Casino. Cross the street (or take Harrah's underground walkway) and you are at Caesar's Republic. Exit the hotel to the west, you are a very short walk to the Heavenly Shops and The Heavenly Gondola that takes you up to a 10,000 foot peak giving you wonderful views of the lake from an observation level, as well as easy-to-walk trails with even more views and local wildlife sights. The lake shore is an easy walk from the hotel and local sights and attractions are an easy drive. Make no mistake, Margaritaville's location can't be beat. The other thing that can't be beat is...THE STAFF. From the front desk staff, to valet staff, to the gift shop, restaurant and housekeeping staff; Margaritaville has assembled a group of genuinely nice people who are eager to help and happy to make friendly conversation that make you feel welcome and appreciated. A particular shout-out to Rachel at the front desk who went the extra mile to ensure our family's special needs were not only met, but met with a smile. Magnificent!!!

It was clean, but they can do a better job. Also, we didn’t have water for coffee and the room, for the most part everything was good. I would recommend other people.

On our first night, the AC unit was not working properly. We asked for a fan and were told by the front desk that housekeeping would be asked to provide one. We didn't receive a response. The room was about 77 degrees overnight. One of us slept on the couch as the living area seemed cooler than the bedroom. On the 2nd day, we asked for the fan again and if the AC unit could be looked at while we were out for the day. When we came back and asked about the unit, there was a bit of confusion with communication at the front desk. They claimed not to know of the AC unit inspection, and again we asked for a fan. Finally, someone did come to the room and fixed the AC, and they did bring a fan. Unfortunately, the fan was covered in heavy dust, so we didn't use it, but the AC did work! All was well. Except for the 3rd night, which was the 4th of July, when we came back to the room from hiking, all of the hotel glassware and coffee cups that had been provided to us the prior nights were gone, except for one cup. This seemed odd, as we had been cleaning them ourselves. We notified staff so they wouldn't think we had taken the glasses/cups. And again, they promised to send someone up from housekeeping with a new mug. Nothing happened. The next morning, as we checked out, we did see paper cups in a plastic bag tied to our door. So, I guess someone in the late hours of the night did arrive with an alternative. So my main takeaway was a good hotel, but they need better communication.

We are a family with 2 kids and we enjoyed our stay. The place was clean and had a great staff. The property does not have a casino which we prefer but it is really close to Harrahs.

Location was great as was the room- large, spacious and clean. Interior of hotel was bright and welcoming.

Great location and great place to stay!

There was so much chlorine in the pool and jacuzzi that caused major rash for my daughter. I saw the maintenence person pouring 8 cups of chemicals in the jacuzzi at once. The only positive experience we had was with the Come Monday morning buffet staff. They were so welcoming and accommodating.

This was a beautiful property and it was located close to all of the food, shopping, and entertainment that we wanted to explore. The staff were friendly and helpful. We will be back and recommend that others go as well!

Excellent stay! We had a wonderful time at Margaritaville Resort Lake Tahoe. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the staff was friendly, and the location was perfect for exploring South Lake Tahoe. The on-site bike rentals were a great bonus and made it easy to enjoy the area. We would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend!

Nice place to stay, especially with family. Room was spacious and well maintained. The HVAC unit in the room is quite noisy, so bring earplugs if you need quiet when sleeping. Also, had a helluva time getting my Macbook connected to wifi. I got it to work once during my 3 night stay, but then couldn’t get it connected again. The front desk wasn’t much help. To be fair, maybe it was my mac’s security settings, but I’ve never experienced this issue in any other hotel I’ve visited.

Love the bright and airy atrium design, with its Caribbean islands feel. Staff was always helpful and very friendly. Had a brief sample of the buffet breakfast; there was a lot there I didn't get to sample. The pool is heated and there's a hot tub, which are both indoors. You're literally next door and across the street from the two nearest casinos; walking distance to all of them, and lots of restaurants, etc.

Our stay was fabulous! The property was beautiful, loved our room and the staff was extremely friendly. We will be back!
