    Convenient downtown location

I have stayed here before and it was always a great experience. They are in the midst of renovations so not so great right now. My “renovated” room was not completed though I was told it was. There was no safe and the light fixture in the bathroom was missing. There was no shower gel in the shower. They offer breakfast from 6-10 but when I went at 9:30 there was no eggs, no pancake batter, no syrup, no utensils to eat with yet when asked about this we were told the it was 9:30 and they weren’t going to refill since breakfast is done at 10. WHAT, that is 30 minutes. The staff was rude including what seemed like a management person.

Hotel room was very clean and spacious

Close to downtown and the University. Nice rooms. Free parking. Decent breakfast.

The place was clean, the staff were helpful and nice to my dog. I love that they allowed my dog to stay with us. Right across the street from a park where I could walk the dog. The building was under renovation and unfortunately, our newly renovated shower leaked all over the place. Room 609 for anyone from the hotel who is monitoring this.

It is under construction but nothing left in the hallways.

Ac was very noisy. Hotel is being renovated but is rundown. Parking in back was fine. Breakfast was limited.

The staff are superb they earn all the stars. . The hotel is under construction which was not listed when we booked. There is no onsite food but a deli just behind so no big deal. The breakfast left a lot to be desired so we skipped that. The room was very nice. Only issue was the door to the bathroom opened the wrong way and blocked the door to the room which was comical and neither were easy to close. Slamming the door was required. No garbage can and a non working fridge. But any amenities we needed the front desk were more than happy to provide.

This is an old hotel in downtown Syracuse. The bones of it are lovely-- it was once a nice hotel. It is currently being renovated by a major hotel chain, so I imagine that the decor and amenities will be upgraded (as well as the price). It's in the U of Syracuse area. It's not a great area of town; it feels like an area that is at the beginning of being gentrified. The parking is behind the building and is not terribly accessible. When I was there, the person at the front desk was barely communicative and didn't seem to like being in the hospitality business. The room was very small.

Hampton is re-vamping the Parkview. Bare bones is what you get now. I booked a 2 bed room, didn't have matching comforters. 2 extremely old bath towels that felt like sand paper. 1"X 2" bar of soap to share with sink and shower. No coffee maker, no paper cups... just 2 plastic cups. Shutters in room... 3 were damaged (unable to open/close). No strike plate (face plate) on door... anyone could just push the door in. I was expecting a bit more luxury for the outrageous prices. Not the Parkview that we once knew.

we lucked out on this hotel because they just renovated it. everything was new. There were still certain floors still under renovation so one of the elevators was reserved for the workers. this didnt affect our stay. Certain parking spots were occupied by construction trailers and vehicles but we managed to find parking. The common areas including the front lobby and the breakfast room were in great shape. the contents of the free breakfast was terrific. Alot of variety of food. Overall a pleasant stay.

The bath towels were small and a bit disappointing. The hotel was quiet although street noise was experienced due to the downtown location. The provided breakfast was average. The staff were all helpful and pleasant. Parking was onsite and there were plenty of spots. The hotel lobby is preparing to be renovated and the hotel is transitioning to a Hilton brand so it will be exciting to see the changes.

Clean, quiet, with very friendly staff. Good breakfast. Will definitely stay again.

The property was going through referb, so none of the usual amenities were present.

no ice machines, I was told to go to a convinience store. The breakfast was lacking as well as the coffee station. That being said, the room was nice and comfortable and clean.

  • Engine customer Aug 2026

The room was nice but there wad nothing to drink at brekfast and not enough to eat. Staff was very nice abd helpful. There us construction so appearances werent the greatest. Location and proximity to college were excellent.

Nails in the hotel parking lot which was a construction zone with limited spots. No hangers in the room. No fridge and to top it off a hole in the wall where the fridge was previously. Staff generally not helpful and unphased when issues were raised. Do not stay here. Avoid at all costs.

    Exceptional

Wonderful 1920’s hotel. We have stayed a number of times over the last few years. It is safe, intersting and convenient to Syracuse University. We have just loved the historical features of the hotel. Not fancy, but clean comfortable and friendly. Now it is being overhauled by A chain and remodeling is feeling cheep. Room doors over painted and sticking badly. Other minor things we were willing to chalk up to growing pains until we learned about the generic overhaul of the lobby planned to obliterate the charming and gorgeous carved cement entrance . I’m happy to see a great old hotel get saved, but no need to take away its charm!
