Best Western Plus Downtown Tacoma

Breakfast was good and the front desk lady in the morning and cleaning lady were nice. The rooms being together was nice too and the size of the king room. It was dirty. There was a dirty crusty towel in the bathroom shower of the king room. The pull out couch bed mattress was COVERED in crumbs and who knows what. The beds were beyond uncomfortable. There was someone else’s hair in the shower. Zero extra bedding in the closet.

They were way understaffed despite being about fully booked with a concert next for. One elevator was down for maintenance. Parking was horrible. Ultimately seemed wholly unprepared like they didn't know how booked they were and as a result it was chaotic and everything, like checking in or getting any service, took forever.

This property says they have an onsite restaurant listed both on Expedia and Hotels.com. That is false they do not have an onsite restaurant or bar. My AC in my room stopped working. I was transferred to another room. Upon arrival back to my room on night two my key cards stopped working. This property only has one elevator in service. I must have been an extra special guest because that one elevator stopped working and locked me inside.

Friendly helpful staff, nice complementary breakfast. Room was clean has mini fridge, microwave and keurig coffee machine

The only thing the property has to offer is a parking garage that requires a card to access. If you use the parking garage do not wait for the elevator! It does not work and when you call the front desk per the paper request taped by the elevator if it doesn’t come down. They will answer and say they are coming. Which is a flat out lie, no one came. We waited 20 minutes!! Second of all horrible location! Right in front of the building are a group of homeless people. The building, elevator, parking garage, and rooms are old and run down! Do not be fooled by the pictures. The room was the best looking part of the hotel, however smelled and the shower doesn’t drain fast enough. So you stand in a pool of water as you shower. The walls of the hotel need a wipe! I’m not one to nit pick but it looks gross!

The breakfast was excellent for me and my son. The hospitality was friendly, clean, and the ambiance was amazing. N/A

I loved the clean, cozy room. The receptionist was very sweet also. My husband said the breakfast was wonderful with bagels, eggs, bacon and yogurt. He brought me up a very good mocha too. The only thing negative I can say is the elevator was not working and had to climb 5 stairways. Arm is a bit sore today from lugging up luggage.

Overall--this hotel is in the HOOD. There are homeless people right outside, things don't work, there's a train right outside that was really noise. I'm frankly TIRED of Expedia not putting information about things like trains in their information. Two nights in a row, two different hotels, two different cities both times trains right outside my window. Knowing that would have been a deal breaker.
